She got a lot of credibility and status working with Steven Soderbergh in terms of becoming a name. And it was lucky that she got to work with a lot of name actors in 'Haywire' like Fassbender, Douglas, McGregor etc.

And in terms of Nolan, I can see it if he wanted to use a real fighter for such a physical role, that he would want to use Carano. For the believability. Snyder as well for that matter.

I'm sorry, but every person seemed to say her acting skills were weak as hell in Haywire. Gina's got a physical presence, but that's because she's a fighter, of course she can look tough. I can't see Nolan who's worked with some of the best talent in Hollywood wanting to use her, he wants talent.

Great she looks like Wonder Woman, but what else? Can she act? Not really. So what if she's acted with some greats? Justin timberlake and Morgan freeman were in a movie together. Maybe Justin should play batman. It's the same argument when a fanboy says the rock, or another wrestler, should play x superhero. Ok they are physical fit, but they aren't right for the role. 'Haywire' started her movie/acting career and it is still going.

I bring up her working with big actors in terms of raising her brand name.

I don't think Haywire did anything for her 'brand name'. Those who do know who she is associate her with MMA/Muay Thai.

I only know about her because of Haywire. That said, I don't see her as WW anymore. She might have a superhero role in her, but not Diana.

Yes. Such as Fast and Furious 6 and the female Expendables movie.

She is the not be-all and end-all choice for me, but I think she is a viable candidate.

We haven't seen all the choices, but she is the one I like from all the choices expressed so far.

Directors dub her voice cuz she can't act, that would be a horrible choice for Wonder Woman. The character is not just a fighter while being able to look the part. She is an actual character.

Especially if Bale is in this?? My god.

Also, I haven't seen much from Gemma Arterton but she doesn't impress me as an actress. She looks the part in some ways but I find she still has a baby face when she's trying to be tough.

Of course Wonder Woman is a character as well as a fighter. Of course the actress should be able to play the part with conviction. And if Carano can't do it, then she shouldn't be WW. But WW being a warrior is a large part of her character too. I worry about the other extreme, where a glamorous actress is cast with absolutely no conviction as a warrior/fighter.

She looks the part and can fight, but can't do anything else. So it's a no for me. If they cast a hot brunette who can act but isn't in the right shape or can't fight and who only looks like a princess, then it's also a no. I agree with you there.

Well, as repeatedly said, she was thrown in the deep end from MMA to a lead in a feature movie with "Haywire". I don't think she was bad. (I think you should stick through all of "Haywire" really.) I do want to see how Carano develops as an actor in her next few movies. I think it's unfair to say she "can't do anything else."

Maybe ill try again, but I couldn't get through the movie. Even Fassbender looked out of place with her.

Ill watch the Fast and the Furious movie and ill decide. Even though she's probably only in a cameo with just fighting. So maybe that's not a good choice.

I personally keep going back to Theron because , imo , she's full package. She's a great actress, she has the physical presence, and I could believe her as a wise leader and a warrior. She also fits into the Nolan school of outside the box of casting ala Anne Hathaway and Amy Adams. You also have a big enough name that would bring audiences to see her in solo adventures.

However , the main set back for her, I would think , is her age at 37. Then again , if Bale's coming back, then it wouldn't be that odd to have a 37 year old WW.
