My only issue with this is Bioware saying things like, "Leviathan has potential to drastically change the ending." Forgive my skepticism, but I somehow just doubt that is the case. Adding a few lines for the Starchild isn't drastically changing the ending. Unless it adds new endings, this is once again a case of BW saying more than they should or even trolling their fans. Bioware really should learn their lesson before they make such grandiose promises.

Yes, god forbid we have an ongoing discussion about something on an internet forum!!

They should just close down the Dark Knight Rises forum, too. I mean, that movie has been out since July! It's old news!!

The problem is there's never any discussion any more. Some folks hate the ending and allow it to color their thoughts on the entire game. And it keeps coming up. Over. And over. And over. Not liking the ending is fine, but sandbagging conversations about other content related to it out of spite gets old.

We've been talking about Leviathan for the past while, actually. And, since Bioware and IGN have both mentioned that Leviathan may or may not make a minor alteration to the ending, obviously discussions about the ending are going to come up.

It's not like everyone is having a normal discussion about whether or not Mordin has a wang and then suddenly someone jumps in and goes "HEY GUYS REMEMBER HOW ME3 SUCKS LOLOLOL!!!"

From my experience, you're usually seen as an idiot if you like ME3. Alot of those *******s over there have an elitist attitude. They think ME1 is a flawless game when it's really not. I love the game, but it has some big flaws.

I'm not sure where you're getting this. BW did not say that, heck I can point to Gamble specifically saying that it wouldn't change the ending.

My thoughts: Extremely good ME DLC, I'd rate it under Shadowbroker and above the rest.

The DLC is easily as long as an "act" from the game: its 3 lengthy combat missions, with repeated visits to a plot critical area. There's also all unique dialogue for the squad mates and ship dialogue in between missions.

Level design was really solid and they throw a few wrinkles into the typical combat scenarios to mix stuff up, though not too drastically. I also really loved the new "investigation" mechanic, it was nothing too crazy but it was fun to piece together clues and think stuff out, to actually engage in the act of "hunting" Leviathan.

Big stuff: The creator race I will call the Leviathans for convenience.

So it turns out the Leviathans were tyrannical oppressors who used their natural indoctrination ability to rule and lord over the galaxy whom they extracted tribute and subservience from. Their indoctrination ability is a bit of a trade-off verses a Reaper's artificial and refined form in that it needs special orbs to extend that control beyond a short range and by the time Shepard runs into them there are only a few orbs left in their possession meaning they've come to rely on hiding and guile to carve out little corners of the galaxy for themselves. Their indoctrination process also isn't permanent and doesn't do any lasting damage once the orb is taken out.

There is some really cool lore stuff in here, aside from the whole origin stuff it turns out the Rachni Wars were the Leviathans not the Reapers making a grab for power.

Also the final speech Leviathan gave vowing to make the Reapers pay with a tribute of blood was pretty darned awesome but it is in no way a "good Reaper", not even the least bit sorry for anything that has happened and its clearly intent on carving out another kingdom for itself. The very first thing I thought after it ended is that the surviving 3 Leviathans seem poised as the next big galactic threat post-war.

Finally, I did not take the Husk head into my cabin.

I'm not sure if I'm looking at it right, but it looks like a re-skinned Reaper.

Largely the same shape, though its more craggly and rock-like. In the EC and here they confirm the Reapers were based off of the Leviathans (like how the Geth resemble Quarians for example).

I'll you what man, sometimes...things just suck. So I start downloading Leviathan, it took roughly an hour and a half to get up to 68%. And thanks to my incredibly ****** internet connection, I was disconneted from XBL. So I re-signed back in, and the download started ALL OVER AGAIN. I have no patience to sit through all that again, so now I've lost interest. Probably won't play Leviathan for a few weeks. God damn mother****ing internet. It always does this when I download something fron XBL. FML.

I was displeased to say the least, I really hate you can't just go and do stuff when doing Xbox downloads.

Fanboy mentality...the first edition of whatever is ALWAYS flawless to them.

ESPECIALLY if said first edition wasn't a success, because, you know...it made them feel cool because they liked something that the 'mainstream' folks didn't enjoy, like being a member of an exclusive club or something.

As far as BSN is concerned, i go there occasionally to read any news or reviews about ME DLC's, but it's kinda pointless now ever since ME3.

You'd be reading a thread about an actual review or whatnot and couple of posts later, people will start *****ing about ME 3 endings...AGAIN

That crap happened to me several times when downloading From Ashes, really really annoying.

Well, I decided to say "**** it" and restart my download of Leviathan, took another hour and a half, but I got it done. I just got done playing it a few minutes ago, I gotta say, it was pretty cool. I liked how, through the revealing of what the Leviathan's are, they show you why Reapear capital ships look the way they do, and why Harbinger has eyes. Pretty cool back story all around, I enjoyed it.

Didn't get time yesterday but will defintely do this tonight. Quite optimistic as I've loved every story DLC across all 3 Mass Effects.
