Wait, I thought the Reapers cores looked like the species they harvested and the outer shell was just a universal design to protect them.

Outer shell is based on the Leviathan design, inner core is based off harvested species.
Harbinger just might have another cuttlefish core to go along with his exterior - he's somewhat unique anyway.

I finally get the Human Reaper design in ME2 now, I never understood how that'd work. You'd have all these cuttlefish & then a Terminator.

So I played it late last night and thought it was cool, but I think it spoiled you a little bit about the ending and all that
I loved the design of the water planet with all the crashed ships everywhere, reminded me of the Rakatan planet in Kotor. |

I also forgot to mention that the inclusion of a omni-blade bayonet was pretty awesome. It's a shame there isn't a new stabbing animation for it though. At least it looks pretty.

Just finished Mass Effect 3 for the 1st time and I don't know if I saw the original ending or one of the new ones (had already downloaded them to the console). Can anyone fill me in on the differences please? Apart from the silly kid and his crazy logic (!) I thought it was fine & caps an amazing trilogy for me. Love all the characters and over the 3 games, one of my best ever gaming experiences.

These things were not present in the original ending: - The evac scene during the beam charge - The scene with the Normandy leaving Earth orbit and Hackett finding out Shepard made it onto the citadel - The investigate options with the catalyst about the Reapers and Crucible functions - The Paragon/Renegade Control variations - The Refuse ending - The scene with the two soldiers fighting on Earth and then the effect on Tuchanka/Thessia/Manae -The fleets evacuating the sol system -The ending narration and slides -The memorial sequence/Normandy lifting off -The mass relays being repaired -The low military score beam charge/Crucible docking variations Quote:

well, I finally did it. I gave in and bought ME 3. For $19.99, new, @ Gamestop, that was too good a deal to pass up.
now I can see what all the fuss is about......lol. one question, though, is the Javik DLC still included in all new copies of ME 3? cuz I didn't see it listed on the box anywhere........

I'm sure there's enough of the main game to keep me busy for awhile...... when's a good time to play the From Ashes and Leviathan DLC missions during the story? should you do them early on, or towards the middle?

What about music? Overload had that one battle theme that was awesome, any new tracks?

There's some new tracks.
You can do From Ashes whenever you want really, I say Leviathan should be done after the Rannoch missions but before Thessia. It best fits there plot and gameplay wise (it has all the Reaper enemies present).

I disagree with this. Javik is a great addition, I dare say what he brings to the game is essential. You aren't playing the complete ME3 without Javik. Don't play through without him.

I was moreso just trying to be economical to X Knight's needs. Javik is great but if you played through your first time without him, you wouldn't necessarily miss him.

I like Javik, but a lack of him doesn't magically make Mass Effect 3 an incomplete game.

the lack of him doesn't make it an incomplete game, no... but IMO his addition is too important to leave out

I think its a case of once you've played with Javik, you can't imagine playing the game without him since he offers such incredible insight into the lore; but Jeff Gerstmann pointed out he didn't notice a Prothean sized hole when he first ran through without him, so that's where I was coming from when I suggested X Night run through the game once before she puts down some more cash since she got it on sale.
