Oh.
Right.

I see your point, but I'd say that's more of Wolverine 3 being overrated than GL being underrated. They BOTH should be in the 20s

I'll agree GL is a little higher than its 23%...but not really enough to complain about. It's not like it'd ever deserve a fresh rating.

Let me guess... HBO? I caught some of it last night, too.

I like it. I don't LOVE it, nor do I think it was a great movie. I thought it was fairly fun and entertaining. My wife knows I am a GL comic book fan (I work at a very laid back office and I am actually wearing a GL tshirt right now) and she bought me the bluray for Christmas. I didn't throw it against the wall and stomp on it like I would have if she bought me like Jonah Hex (I wouldn't do it to anything, but you get my point). Like I said, like it, don't love it. It's nowhere near the WORST comic book movie.

I still love the Hell out of it. Me and my buddy still watch it like once a month.

Nope, my own copy.

The movie is what got me into the comics. Honestly, I used to be the typical "Dc sucks; except for batman. Maybe the flash too." I really did find it to be, as you said, fun and entertaining, which is all the movie was really going for.

Glad to find more GL supporters! Hopefully it gets a sequel.

I thought Green Lantern was good the first time. Now I own the movie and can't get into it.

I'm a huge of Tim Burton and claymation but Frankenweenie doesn't interest me. I think it's because I'm used to the live action short but this new film doesn't seem that appealing. I'm more excited about Paranorman.

I still haven't seen The Grey. I am afraid I am going to hold every Liam Neeson movie to "Taken" standards now.

How's the opinion status on that one?

The only thing I didn't like about it was that a few of the characters were extremely cliche.

Oh, jeez. Taken doesn't hold a candle to The Grey.

Which leads me to my next unpopular opinion: Taken bored the **** out of me. I don't get the adoration at all. It has one good scene, and that scene was in the trailer. The rest is bloated, silly, poorly cut, faux edgy, and not exciting at all.

.........

Is this unpopular?: The Expendables is a terrible movie. I just watched it today for the first time and I was shocked at how truly awful it was. I mean bad. I don't even want to bother breaking down what didn't work. Nothing worked. Absolutely wretched. Makes Taken look like The Grey.

Me too, I feel like The Grey had big pacing problems.

As far as recent Neeson goes -

The Grey > The Next Three Days > A-Team > Unknown > Battleship > Taken >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Clash/Wrath of the Titans

Besides the monologue and dick measuring with Xander Berkley, Taken is garbage.

Well, than I do the thread proud. I've seen Taken once, and I doubt I'll ever watch it again. I've already seen The Grey four times this year and it's made me cry every time. Hell it made me cry when I watched it with the commentary on!

I see no one is making a fuss about my opinion on The Expendables. Is that not an unpopular opinion? Seriously, I really don't know. I know it got a middling critical reception, but I really don't know what audiences thought. I doubt that most couldn't stand it the way I did. God damn, it sucked.

I'm completely immune to Ryan Reynolds charms. Seriously. Nothing he's done has wowed me or endeared me to him as he has with some. Two of my closest friends will watch ANYTHING he does and they love the film, regardless of how terrible it is.

That said, I like National Lampoon's Van Wilder. I really don't know why, but that movie just hooks me in regardless of flaws. It's just one of those movies that I need to lighten up my day.

I have liked some of Reynolds comedic roles, but anytime he tries to do a serious role he just falls flat for me. I don't buy it.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of his either. Something about him just rubs me the wrong way.
