I liked what Hardy did for the most part, though it was just the gravitas of the voice and him only being able to emote via his eyes. Not what I really wanted out of Bane, but it was all right. Catwoman was the most talked about character though after every showing I went to.

That's primarily due to the status of the character, though. As with The Joker, the part could be played indifferently or badly and it would still get a lot of attention.

"Ultra hot" means there's no mystery, only sexual teasing. Catwoman should tease of course, but by virtue of being mysterious, not just sexually available.

Femme fatales don't have to be "ultra hot." Their seeming vulnerability and mysterious nature makes them attractive. Nolan's Catwoman being a little girly plays with this. The long hair, the tiny waist, the high heels...all that points to a youth and vulnerability that belies her true abilities. She doesn't immediately look like the ass-kicker that Scarlet's Black Widow was. But Black Widow is all business. Catwoman plays with you.

Cause having been a fan of the character since I was a little kid watching reruns of the old Adam West show you are describing a Catwoman I never saw. Even the Jim Balent version was more than just big boobs and curves.

That's always my reaction too.

I dunno, I always figured someone like Megan Fox is super-hot, and that's because she looks like she's making herself sexually available. Most of the time you aren't really interested in what's going on in her head, only what she's wearing. Or not wearing.

Anyways, I also find it interesting that Bruce is attracted to her even though he sees right through her femme fatale, shielded personality. In classic noir films, our hero usually gets caught in the femme fatale's trap because he wants to save her from whatever is troubling her. But Bruce never assumes that she needs help. He tells her she needs to start fresh, but that's as far as he goes. (Well, okay, he gives her the program because he's the one who has it. She was perfectly capable of searching for it herself.) In fact, he needs help from her, and she defies her archetype by changing for the better.

Yep. When she appeared, it was fun and exciting. She gave the movie spark and personality.

Just the fact that you said you would sacrifice actimg for the girl to look hot tells us all we need to know. Her acting was spot on, and she's being universally praised by critics and fans for her performance. It's not on the level of Ledger's praise, but it's more than anyone else in the movie got. You can't please everyone, especially not someone who just wants a boner while watching the movie rather than someone who can immerse themselves into the character. It's like a girl saying Channing Tatum should batman because Bale isn't hot enough. Anne got the voice and body language down perfectly.

Stick to transformers. Bay is all about casting "hot" girls who can't act.

Agree. She gave a great performance, but she wasn't on the same level as Heath Ledger, so I don't think she's worthy of an Oscar nomination. But again I don't think anyone really stood out from the whole cast the way Ledger. And that's not a complaint because everyone was spot on I think when they were on screen especially, Bale, Hathaway, Caine, and Hardy. Of course I definitely prefer The Joker over Selina Kyle/Catwoman in really any versions. However watching the trailers for Les Miserables, I definitely can see a possible Oscar nomination for her there. Just not in this movie especially since she's missing for such a great length for the second half, but it fits the story really. I don't think anyone in this movie though will get an Oscar nomination, despite Caine being so brilliant in his few scenes. Hathaway, and mostly everyone else in the cast was great, but Ledger in my opinion was phenomenal and deserved that Oscar 100%. And I agree it's definitely about acting, and not looks, even though Anne Hathaway looked really sexy and hot in this movie haha.

It's funny how Selina clearly when she first meets Bruce she can't stand him, and than by the end you see them together in a cafe in another country haha. I'm sure if you told her before The Dark Knight Rises started that she would eventually fall in love with Bruce Wayne she would kick your ass, sending you to the hospital or something to injury you .
