THIS is one of my favorite scenes of 89. I had always wondered about the pink/brown/rust color of Jokers suit haha, probably somethin to do with lighting/green screen effects.

Plus Batman's logo was white in that scene.

I was referring to the post before mine. It would be cool to grow up during Batman 1989 commercials and such, that's all.

The trailers are great.

I remember those days when, besides TV spots, the only way you ever saw a trailer was by going to the movies.

Not knowing what would come on, I remember going crazy seeing the trailers for Batman Forever and Batman & Robin the first time - they got me so excited as a 10-12 year old. I remember being so excited to see one Batman trailer that I spilled popcorn everywhere. Mum was not impressed.

Shame how they turned out.

Trailers are still exciting and I love our access to them now, but it's not quite the same.

BTW, I think Hamm got the idea of having Vicki reporting from civil wars from the story "Ruins", Batman #365.

Since he also took major inspiration from Black Mask and Circe I think it's kinda shabby that he never gave any credit to Doug Moench.

I've always wondered how Tim Burton forget to give the role of Alfred to Vincent Price. Come on, Tim! It was right in your face!

While Vincent Price had an amazing voice, Michael Gough had that distinguishable English accent I hear when I see Alfred. And that added to the comic book feel of the movie.

Tim didn't really have a huge amount of control over the first film. And yes, it would have been for the Britishness of Gough too.

But part of me secretly would have loved to see Price as Alfred. Only part.

to be fair he was already experiencing the symptom's of Parkinson's Disease by the time Batman was filming, and probably wouldn't have been able to fully do the role at that point. his role in Edward Scissorhands was greatly reduced due to the effects of the disease on him, which started filming less than a year after Batman's release.

by the time BR came about,he probably would've had to be replaced. so Gough was for the best.

Price did a film called Dead Heat in the late 80's that took about just as much screentime as it would have taken to do Alfred.

Maybe. Corto Maltese is also mentioned in THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.
