wow.....

haven't read the script, though if anyone has it please PM it to me. but anyway, after reading the reviews/reactions to it, i am glad this movie got delayed. seriously, Casey as a teenager? Casey & April should be in their mid to late 20s, not damn teenagers. and don't get me started on Shredder, or should i say Colonel Schrader.

this sounds like a rehash of the Transformers films...ugh

Yeah, PM it to me too.

It amazes me how similar this movie, or atleast how it's been discribed so far, is to Transformers. In my head I'm picturing Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox as Casey and April. (Also note how they take April, the main human contact with the turtles in every adaptation, and turn her into the generic love intrest.) I'm picturing the characterization of the turtles like the Transformers where characterized. You only knew Ironhide was the soilder because he talks about his canons, Ratchet was the medic because he used dry scientific language, Jazz was the "cool" one because he said, "What's crackin' *****es". Nothing to show character, just one liners. Turtles being regulated to supporting characters in their own movie. Government/military capture and knowledge of characters that are supposed to be hidden from view. And of course, the biggest, most nonsensical parrellel between the two; an alien world that is ravaged by war that spills over onto Earth. The one thing Transformers got right in terms of mythos, they carry over to TANT and completely jacks their mythos up. They even took the same McGuffin used in all three Transformers movies, an ancient artifact from their world put on/near Earth, and used it here.

Here was my predictions about this movie from back in March:

Ninjisu is actually a fighting form of their home world that they taught to Japanese hundreds of years ago. Their weapons look primative but are highly advanced and shot bolts of energy or something. Maybe each weapon as a special ability that makes the "turtles" look like they have mystic powers. Leonardo is the stoic leader, dishing out sage fortune cookie like advice. (Fortune cookies are Japanese, right? It doesn't matter) Raphael is the grumpy war vet, Donatello is the bland medic, and Michelangelo is the quirky buddy character. Maybe he can't talk? No, that would be stupid. The Shredder is also a "turtle" creature from their world who is a war lord and wears a battle suit. The foot soilders will be mindless robotic canon fodder, so it's just like the 80's cartoon. April is the impossiblly hot chick who gets caught up with Mike and becomes the love interest. Also, she words for the school newspaper or some ****. I don't want to drop too many names from the original series, but we need a dashing authoity figure who plays by his own rules; enter Officer Jones. His first name isn't Casey, however, because that's kind of girly. I'd say it's going to be a mix of Transformers and Bad Boys with a little bit of Big Trouble in Little China thrown in.
I'm rather surpried how close I got on some stuff.

I haven't seen the script yet, so if someone has, I have a few questions. What are Bebop and Rocksteady? Are the mutants? How does Splinter fit it? Is he a mutant? How did he get the Turtles?

I just went to Michael Bay's website forum to lightly troll them and registration is down. Lol, I wonder if it's because the leaked script is real.

This is pure garbage. As an aspiring screenwriter, I love ready scripts. But this one was unbearable. The dialogue is trash, and it feels waaaay too similar to a certain giant robot franchise. Ughhh.

Seriously, how hard is it to write a decent Turtles story? Its not like they have close to 30 years of stories to pull ideas from or anything...

Oh man I haven't been in this forum for a long time and I come back to see this?? Well I couldn't actually find the script online to read as its since been taken down but Latino Review have a video description of it.......

I'm just so glad that its been pushed back because that sounded like one of the worst adaptions ever, along the lines of Dragoball Evolution kind of bad/pointless.

I love the Turtles, its not hard to get them right. I mean they haven't done a bad job so far so why mess it up so badly now??

Hell, take a cue from Nickelodeon and what they're doing with the franchise with the new show. That's about as accurate as you can get while maintaining the feel of the 80s show.

Was it the same script as the one we've recently heard about?

Yes Lencho01. Remember he tweeted back in June that he got a hold of the script. He said Bebop, Rocksteady, and Dimension X were in it. According to the admin of Michael Bay's forums, he says the draft is a year and a half old, but whatever.

I think the reason El Mayimbe did the report because another blog leaked the script and did a review. Other than the ironic images, Mayimbe's report wasn't all that scathing and critical he mainly just broke down the whole script.

Then again, Mayimbe is NOT a trustworthy script reviewer considering he gushed over the scripts for GI JOE, Legend of Chun-Li, Voltron, and Masters of the Universe.

Maybe bay should re write it. At least that way he could actually be blamed for a poorly written script.

I really hope so because that script was TERRIBLE, too similar to the story structure of the Transformers movies and thats a huge mistake. It needs to be about the Turtles and not Casey or April's perspective of them.

It's called damage control Lord. I doubt Bay wrote that anyway.

http://www.deadline.com/2011/06/para...ninja-turtles/

To say they wrote this script and it was shredded YEARS ago is an outright lie. Year at most.
