I think the reason El Mayimbe did the report because another blog leaked the script and did a review. Other than the ironic images, Mayimbe's report wasn't all that scathing and critical he mainly just broke down the whole script.

Then again, Mayimbe is NOT a trustworthy script reviewer considering he gushed over the scripts for GI JOE, Legend of Chun-Li, Voltron, and Masters of the Universe.
Ah, yes. Wasn't there some deal with the amount of Twitter followers he had and when he'd release details?

Maybe he felt angry for not getting all those site hits and tried to get as much as he can in the wake of fans and Paramount's reactions.

Were than GI Joe and Chun-Li scripts for the versions we saw?

Eh, maybe. At worst, I think this'll end up like The Last Airbender. Paramount thinking they'd have a hit with some crap just because of the fanbase.

Just because they are redoing it doesn't mean what they come up with next is going to be better. Even Transformers was re-written a lot.

Also Platinum Dunes and Michael Bay got attached to this project as far back as OVER TWO YEARS AGO. Need proof, voila:

http://www.deadline.com/2010/08/para...se/#more-62251

There's written record of all this in the trades.

The draft that's being leaked and skewered online is only a little over a year old tops. Nemec and Applebaum got reported as being on this project in June 2011.

I'm not a mathematician but that does not equate to YEARS.

I wanted to remain positive but it was awful.

Skimmed through a good deal of it but whatever the heck I just read wasn't TMNT. Not even close.

There is a post on that thread that said the script was labled January 2012.

And even if that particular script was shredded, it dosn't mean subsequent scripts won't follow the same basic outline. I read an old script for X-Men and was amazed at how much was rewritten yet followed what was the final version.

Ha. Maybe their first priority, then, should be not to piss off the fanbase.

The ideas are horrid. Its ironic too given how many came out and were defending Michael Bay and the direction he wanted to take the story.

Bay had to play damage control on his site again, didn't he? I get that in some small way, he may feel like he's rehashing the same thing over and over with TMNT considering all the reboots they've had featuring the same origin, but that is what we want goddammit.

Do any of them realize from the timeline that they got attached to this movie in May 2010 and this script that got out was probably finished this year?

Here's how Bay himself (well him or one of his PA's or assistants) responded:

Quote:
To end this stupid merry go round and explain the math...Yes we signed on two years ago to Turtles, but with no deal in place. Deal completed towards end of last year. And yes, thats how long deals sometimes take. So no work was done on the script. Blame Paramount, not us for the first draft.

Michael
Math still doesn't really work because than the script still came out after he got involved. Also what does he mean no work was done on the script? Do they mean they didn't do any work on the script? Eh maybe, clearly this script was finished after a deal was made and some point after they got involved with the franchise.

To me is sounds like Bay's team haven't done any work on the script and that it's still basically what Paramount had before they got properly involved.

It looks like Bay is getting pissy about this. Good. Why does he even want to deal with all this? It's not like he cares about the material, and he can make money doing anything else. Maybe he'll get fed up and leave the project.

the script reeked of bay, it was clearly a sad attempt at damage control to even suggest it isn't is madness

i wouldnt be angry if they are from space if its an entertaining funnny summer action movie.

2 options. Take the facts as we are presented them or make wild passionate assumptions and hope we'll get some sort of rally. Choose wisely.

Just saw a video review of the script, holy…

Seems like it would take more than a re-write to save that disaster.

Why he is still on this project is beyond me. Michael Bay should just stick to Transformers. Surely the studio has to know that this is an unsaveable PR nightmare as long as Michael Bay is still involved

I watched the video review and listened for about 4 minutes because I don't want to have anything spoiled for me. But, honestly I liked it. It sounded ok to me. I don't know what some of you are expecting.
