I got that Green Lantern vibe from that big Octopus type monster and the dialogue between Henry/Amy Adams. But I don't think this film will end up as bad as Green Lantern.

I thought the Trailer is good like most people have said the music isn't as great and I found that the trailer to be a a bit too much of a rehash of the first two trailers but the new footage that was shown was brilliant and I seriously can't wait for this film

Well I think the music is awesome...truly truly awesome. I can't explain it other than it resonates with me, makes me more excited and gets me invested in this film.
And good call on Zack Snyder really excelling in the action department he is FANTASTIC at that...actually..the story department as well..for me anyways I love his movies.I'm just worried because I feel it won't have enough action or Superman in his suit (God that suit is beautiful by the way ). It is of course too early to tell but I'm just hoping against hope someone...SOMEONE finally gets Superman. And I'm not talking about the very 1st Superman motion picture, I get it I get it...it's loved by many and it's a masterpiece and all of that, but I'm talking in recent years, like in the last 20 yrs or so since Tim Burton was supposed make this film, or even a bit before that.It ASTOUNDS me that this movie hasn't been made right. I guess it's subjective, some people liked/loved Superman Returns..I thought it was right ****ing abysmal, I can't TELL you how disappointed I was. It's unreal, I mean it's a comic about a man who can do ANYTHING pretty much, has a cavalcade of unbelievably awesome and powerful villains to fight and what happens in the last go around? He gets his ass kicked by ****ing Kevin-Boring-Lex Luthor (again!!!!) the guy from Harold and Kumar, has a kid that throws pianos, and flys around crying and chit...it was a terrible letdown for me I just couldn't believe it. I mean you have these..daydreams, these fantasies of seeing a superhero whom you cherish get into a high stakes rough and tumble explosive action extravaganza and you get that serious case of "Whiskey Dick" that was Superman Returns ![]() Either way I know I talk too much and I'm sorry for that LoL, I just am really really really excited about this film and I hope it's everything that every Superman fan wants and dreams up in their head. Obviously it won't be able to be everything for everyone in terms of what they had imagined but I am hoping the crew/cast/producers/technical wizards/everyone else who worked on where the world can join IT in the sun. .......damn Zod is so badass in this just as a P.S.

I actually didn't mind the music, Hans Zimmer or not. I particularly liked the very beginning of the score with the Jor-El scene and the drums didn't bother me at all. Not the most epic piece in the world, but it is only trailer music after all.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but what movie is this trailer going to show in front of? I just saw an IMAX screening of Oblivion tonight and the three trailers attached to the IMAX print was Pacific Rim, Iron Man 3, and Man of Steel trailer 2. Surprised they didn't attach trailer 3.

Now I'm SUPERHEROHYPED!! Great visuals, great acting, great trailer. Score came up a *little* short, though. That's the last of the marketing for me until the movie comes out. Don't wanna spoil my appetite.
I may not even come on the boards too often. See you in full swing in 2 months, people!

It's uplifting and hopeful AND powerful all at the same time.I also think this trailer has resonated so powerfully with the masses today because of what happened yesterday. I was just checking reactions on AICN and everybody loves it. And Harry had a good point: "And I think today, we all kinda wish for indestructable children - and the idea that just one could become SUPERMAN... well that's a helluva thing."

It is odd timing, actually. I don't want to even entertain whether or not that will help or affect the movie's reception in any way.

I really liked the trailer, I can't wait for the film.
The music was a little...I dunno. Not very supermany? The drums sound like jungle drums.

It's best not to think too hard about it. It's out of everyone's hands, even WB's. They will push the uplifting and inspiring angle in the marketing, but because it's Superman and they want to differentiate it from the Nolan Batman films. That's the best way to go about it. I'm sure they won't go rah rah America with it. They approached Ledger's death quite tastefully, by not mentioning it outright, but showcasing what he had already accomplished on celluloid.

The fortress of solitude is going to look spectacular, just those snippets of it in the trailer are impressive.

But ideals are a big part of Superman's popularity. True humanity is shown when you have all the power in the world to do harm....and you don't. It takes someone with extremely strong morals and ideals to live up to that.

Let people take from it what they will, but don't push it as such. Like 'In these troubled times, we need someone to look up to...' etc. We got them, in real people all around us....let this be a welcomed distraction of entertainment first and foremost (just like everything else in movies), then again people will take from it what they will. I just don't want to see some ad campaign somehow trying to take advantage of something like the Boston bomb.

Superman, this Superman, is different. Of course, there's no telling what the REAL story is about before the film is released, but from what we've seen so far, it seems that personal choice will be a huge aspect. The choice to do the right thing. To help others, even if it comes at a cost to you. That's why Lois is having so much trouble chasing down Clark - he disappears every time he pulls off a spectacular rescue. It's in his nature to help, but it comes at a major cost to him, and yet he still keeps doing it. Because it's just the right thing. I agree that at this time, it could be the right time to hit a cultural nerve. But again, it's something we can't bank on, but it sure will be interesting to observe if it does happen.

Outstanding trailer, truly. I watched that just as I woke up around 7 am, half asleep, my eyes struggling to stay open, but then, I hear those couple notes of piano, and I'm like "WOW WOW, is that Zimmer's?", that scene on Krypton, damn, it fits perfectly, and then the rise of the drums, it just sounds absolutely incredible.
I cannot understand how some find it generic (yeah yeah I read that) or meh, so epic, and majestic, already iconic. Man, it's really something special. Visually, Snyder brings the goods, gorgeous cinematography, the action looks insane, Shannon will chew dat scenery as always, Cavill looks perfect, especially with his straight-up confidence when saying "It's not an S, it's a symbol of hope". And of course, those wonderful moments with Pa Kent "You are my son", or with Jor-El "How? He'll be a god to them" **** yeah, straight up perfect. |

Felt compelled to post after years of not being active on here. Amazing trailer, blew me away. Still hate the costume and some of the casting choices but I'm very optimistic now that it will be a truly great Superman film.
