I would love it if they cast Charlize as Ms.Marvel. I dont think she is going to be losing her looks anytime soon so she would be good playing the character through the age of 45-47.

Or Amber Heard if they want a younger actress.

Amber Heard is gorgeous, but she seems a little too innocent. I have a hard time imagining her as a military type. She's a very girly type.

..."Girly?" Did you see her in Drive Angry?

Shame that Amber couldn't be stuck at age 20. She would be awesome for Supergirl but if that's ever made, she'll probably be too old by then.

She's 26; she'll do fine. And "military" in this case only means a fighter pilot or a security specialist, not a jarhead. She doesn't have to be a badass (although, again, she definitely was in Drive Angry.)

How about Dianna Agron?

She has the look down...I mean, how many times do you see Carol Danvers from the front in a normal issue anyway?

(That should be made valid for all potential contenders from this point onwards)

How about Elle Fanning? She won't be 40 for a few years now.

I will be making a casting collage for the role of Ms. Marvel's butt; Name your choice, and she'll be added to it.

This is the problem. The attitude that anyone under 30 is too young, girly or innocent to play a comic book character.

Most comic book characters are in their 20s or early 30s.

How about the attitude that anyone over the age of 35 is decrepit and broken?

If Marvel operated under that mantra there'd be no RDJ-Tony Stark and thus no MCU...

Given how low of a priority I believe this movie is with Marvel? Elle Fanning would be fine. I don't see a Ms. Marvel solo film happening this decade.

Robert Downey Jr fits Iron Man's character, and makes him more believable. It's not nearly as impactful if you have a 25-30 year old Tony Stark like the comics did. Downey's age made it believable that he'd built an empire over several years based on moral negligence, where as a 25 year old Stark would've seemed like a character who inherited an empire built on several years of moral negligence.

A 40 year old Carol Danvers who went into the Military at 18 would be a desk jockey or retired with a fat pension. It also removes her from what drives her by too many years. She's driven by a sexist, chauvinistic, traditional military upbringing, where she had to fight for recognition among her brothers. A younger, still hungry Carol Danvers makes a more compelling character.

Or she'd be an officer who worked her way up the ranks, who still hasn't necessarily found that peace of mind and respect she feels her years of service have entitled her to.

The reality is that there are very few characters for whom initial youth is actually important.

Amber Heard my pick for Wonder Woman. Yvonne Strahovski is still my pick for Carol Danvers.

Just curious, who was your Thor pick prior to the announcement of Chris Hemsworth?

I'm fine w them having varying ages in the MCU. Nit every character needs to be in their 20s.

Of course it is hard for some people to accept older females since they look at them as sex objects first.

But charlize will probably look just as good in the next 10 years as she does now.
