Dude, I started watching season 1 two weeks ago... I was mostly into it, would watch an episode every other day or so... then in the past week ive watched up until the middle of season 4... and I work a lot, and do other ****... show is crazy addicting.

Hey guys, I have an authorial quandary to put to you:

I got a reply from a literary agent, and he said that he'd take another look at the book (Mathion) — IF I cut out about 40% of the exposition and backstory.

Simply put, what do you think? Should I try it and see how it turns out?

DS, cut some stuff out (not everything he told you, like he knows how much 40% of it is anyway), it'll also be a good chance to do review your work more... austerely. Don't go all Tom Rothman on it and keep the absolute necessary parts to advance the story, but ommit the stuff that tend to make the book more Silmarillion-y. And go from there.
