I harassed Hickman on formspring, and he says he's not using the Hood in his Avengers run. So at least Bendis didn't do too much long term damage.

What is with all you people suggesting Planet Hulk as a part of the MCU? Isn't that kind of obviously NEVER going to happen? Anyone with half a brain should see something like that never working for live action..
And characters like DD, The Punisher etc., wouldn't they kind of loose their weight in a universe with characters like Thor and Hulk flying around? |

Frank Castle & Matt Murdock are vigilantes. They really have absolutely nothing in common with Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Namor, The GOTG & The Inhumans. |

Not really. It's like Ollie told Batman in JLU: someone has to handle the small fry while the big guns are busy with the monsters and aliens.

Yeah, cause they'd cause more anarchy cause they'd wreck the whole neighborhood LOL!! What people seem to not realize and what was indirectly shown in the Marvel shorts(item 47,A funny thing, the consultant) is that though there are Super Heros and Cosmic Villains real life is still happening in the MCU. People go to work, Kids go to school, reality shows are on tv, Fox News(lol!!) petty criminals break into cars and so on. The only difference between the MCU as a whole and us is that they know were not alone in the universe.. But they still have to get up for work and take the kids to school etc. They (The Avengers and even SHEILD) aren't gonna concern themselves with local corruption, Mob activity, petty crimes or even vigilantes. Thats for local Law Enforcement to deal with and that aspect can coincide within the MCU

What I was questioning wasn't really if street level heroes like DD or The Punisher would have anything to do in the MCU, but rather if they'd feel as serious and menacing as they should, when there are so many way more powerful heroes and villains around..
I just don't see it fitting together. |

I think if they wanted a street level type of hero they should have the heroes for hire.

The fact that something's in the MCU doesn't mean that some street hero is automatically joining the Avengers. It can exist in the same world just fine.

It works in the comics because they keep them separate. In the films, where it seem to be about bringing it all together, it may not work the same.

Well being they have Daredevil back they have a well known hero to show that street level side if they wanted to on film in the future or another medium in or outside of the SHEILD tv Show

It'll be interesting to see what they decide to do with him and when.

Daredevil should be a priority for Phase 3. A straight up intro film. Don't bother with a cameo elsewhere, just do a solo film and focus on making it great.
Not only does he have enough general audience exposure but by the time they do a DD film for the MCU it'll have been 15 years give/take since the '03 film. An origin film works fine with that much of a gap.

I know this sounds blasphemous to a DD fan, but I have to ask: Why exactly should a DD film be a priority for Marvel? And how high a priority? More than any of the sequels? More than any other new property?

Daredevil is one of the prime candidates for a TV show if SHiELD really breaks out, imo.

I'm not as big of a Daredevil fanatic as some, but he's basically the king of the Marvel B-listers; He has had more solo comics than any other character outside of Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the big 4 Avengers, and has some of the most critically acclaimed Marvel stories ever written.

So... does that transfer into more money than a B-list Avenger? Or Marvel doesn't care about money, they're more concerned with giving character priority based on their level in comics?
Thaaaat makes such a mind-numbing amount of sense it's not funny. Perfect crime/law procedural with a unique hook doable on a TV-scale. Law and Order: MCU, basically.

Daredevil is like Batman, the Sopranos & Law & Order in one shot. That'll translate well with the general audience if done faithfully. It's one of the few Non-Avengers that can hold its own in a solo film set within the MCU but independent of the Avengers so maybe not more money but I think as much as any B-List Avenger (If translated faithfully) and as was said before the gap between Fox's DD and the reboot would be decent They can go either way and win with DD |

I think Marvel Studios needs to take a break from cosmic powers and the Avengers after phase 3 and focus on smaller street level heroes with movie budgets between 80-120 m. All these movies would need is 220 m to 280 m WW to be highly profitable.
After Avengers 3 in 2018... 2019: Daredevil Luke Cage Iron Fist 2020: Punisher (HBO) Werewolf by Night (AMC) Namor Dr. Strange 2021: Daredevil 2 Heroes for Hire 2022: The Defenders (Dr. Strange, Hulk, Namor) Runaways Then around 2025 work on doing West Coast Avengers, Inhumans (Pixar?), and other stuff.

I totally agree, Avengers 2 seems so far away too.
