Cavill got lucky too, he was thisclose to being cast in McG's crapfest. If McG had boarded that flight to Australia the movie probably would have gone ahead with Henry in the lead of a supercampy, Charlie's Angels-esque "Superman."

I'm not sure what everyone means about the chest hair hanging out, I don't see any. When he's on fire, I don't see chest hair at the top of his chest around his neck. Maybe it's just me. I guess Christopher Reeve in Superman II looking like a rug, is something that's not remembered too well. He was actually more harry. ![]() |

I don't see a lot of chest hair that would be hanging out of the suit. ![]() Last edited by curiosity; 12-24-2012 at 08:32 PM. |

It's not so much that you can see it in a picture like the one you posted, but it's there. It's visible in the trailer, specifically in the shot where Supes is talking to Amy -- where you see his face. Nothing wrong with that though; it reminds me of John Byrne's depiction of the character. Kind of an odd thing for people to nitpick about.

Theyll digitally remove the chest hair peeking out of the suit during post production. Unless they already had the post production in which case were gonna see some rockin supermanly chest hair baby!

My fellow Supes fans must be really bored if they are talking about Mr. Cavill's chest hair in depth.

I love how the discussion has turned to Henry's chest hair. If anything, it makes look more manly and awesome.

Isn't the lack of chest waxing what makes Cavill's Superman, Jackman's Wolverine, and Ruffalo's Hulk the best?

I don't think it makes sense for Superman to be really cut up. Definitely a strong physical look but not supercut or entirely waxed, unless well on Krypton body hair has been bred out. But if Russell Crowe is your dad that ain't going to happen. So there's a nice link there to show a bit of a genetic connection to Jor-El.
The dude looks perfect as Superman. Let's face it, Reeves had enormous presence but his look doesn't suit the modern age superman |

I grew up reading Bynes Superman, so I'm very familiar with the hairy chested Supes, this is probably why nobody else really seems to have a problem with it.
Enough about the chest hair though, I just hope Cavill can keep his build consistent throughout his different appearances in the DC cinematic universe. One thing that can really distract you during a hero flick is when the heroes physical build goes down in the next installment. It happens often, but in some cases its worse than others. Hopefully Cavill will not be one of those guys who shrinks in the next movie. |

It'll be interesting to see if Cavil can (or has the mind to) sustain his physique for the sequel. Christian Bale (especially), Chris Evans and Hemsworth were noticeably smaller in their second go round as their characters. The only one to evade this trend was Hugh Jackman, who seemed to get bigger and bigger with each new installment since X1.

My father feared that if the fans found out about my chest hair, they'd reject me out of spite. He was convinced the forums weren't ready. What do you think?
