Started working on the nose vent hole thingies, and as I suspected, they're being complete *****. Ignore the shoddy eyebrow square piece, as its just for reference. Gonna spend the next few days smoothing, measuring and triple checking, then im gonna order some urethane, and silicone from smooth-on.

I still think the chin is a bit too "Marv" looking... Bane´s mask chin is a tad more rounded on it´s profile.

very nice man- I dont mean this offensively. its looking a little bit Thanos-y but still good man- maybe smooth out the chin a little but other than that - A+

I think its just the angle and lighting, cause its definetely not that "spartacus" in person.

i've lost some steam. the plans for my mask have started falling apart. finally got my vest base from my co-worker but the thing still needs to be sewn together, so that's another stumbling block.
just spent the last 3 days working a huge gun show, completely exhausted otherwise i would be working on my vest now.
the fact that i am probably not going to complete bane by NYCC has completely stolen my thunder. i'm pretty bummed out and am thinking of focusing on what i need to do for other costumes for now and finish bane later.
wicked disappointed about it but what can i do? dont have the funds to buy a mask, and i really want to make my own anyway. the vest... well.. i guess that can be an ongoing project. if i manage to get bane done in time, so be it. if not, my other 2 costumes will be beefed up and improved.

More or less near completion with painting up my JBrown mask. Finall dull coating has not been sprayed on yet; there are a lot more spots to touch up and correct. Pictures came out like 100% more saturated than it really is but it's not actually that deep in color. It's more washed out in reality. A bit sloppy looking but I only had some brushes and mini art sponges to work with. Two more weeks until NYCC!

Do Jbrown masks NEED to be painted? What do they look like when you get them? From the discussion I had with him, it sounded like I could get it all good with no hassle paint wise.

You can request unpainted. I requested unpainted. I like to do my own artsy stuff. I don't know how much JBrown paints it, I think he mostly just colors the metal parts over with the urethane paint.

It's really not that hard to paint it up plus I think it's a bit extra. Really if you paint it yourself you'll feel a lot better about the color and like it a lot more. I think Jonny painted up his even after having Jbrown painting it up so might as well order unpainted and paint it how you want it. Took me only 3-4 hours and it was actually pretty fun and I'm really happy with how mine came out!


Also I know this is kinda unrelated but I've actually lost quite a bit of fat. I didn't realize it until I looked at the side by side pictures and this is also after only a month I don't have a picture of when I first started working out, wish I did though because I only took the first picture after the first month of working out and notice a big change. Overall I've lost 25lbs in only 2 months I hope this motivates you guys. Hopefully by next month I'll look closer to Bane haha

Your about a month late to this party actually, the mask was then sold on eBay to a good home so this guy who posted this doesnt even have the mask anymore.

Just a quick shot from this past weekend at the Las Vegas Comic Expo, I won most accurate look alike in the Masquerade contest.

I did indeed! Good fun painting it, and quite easy to correct mistakes.
