I don't really think Spider-Man 2 should be that high up, even though I really enjoy the movie. :/

i think thats a pretty poor list. least of all because of how grossly over rated x-men first class and iron man are.

Interesting. To me it's mostly a long-term blu-ray shopping list!
Just not into Ghost World, American Splendor - one viewing was enough. Where's my Batman [1989]?

A decent list. Always nice to see The Rocketeer get a little love.
I woulda put Spider-Man 2 in 1st place but that's just personal preference. And like EditNinja says, Where's Batman '89? Apart from being a great movie, it's kind of a big deal when it comes to the evolution of Superheroes on screen. |

That list is Teh Suck.
*X2 ranking higher than Iron Man = teh fail *Road to Perdition ranking anything higher than 20 = teh fail (#6? really? WTF :/) *Batman: Mask of the Phantasm? Animated? Really? Jeebuz. If *anything*, Batman animated deserves Batman: Gotham Knight. *absence of Batman 89 (or any Burton film) = teh fail *absence of any version of The Hulk = teh fail *absence of The Incredibles = teh fail *absence of MIB = teh fail *absence of V for Vendetta = teh fail *American Splendor, Ghost World in top 25? = teh fail Try again, IGN. You can do MUCH better than that.

IGN is unhealthily obsessed with DC and especially Batman! Spider-man 2 is the best comic book movie of all time. (As the great Roger Ebert says: " Spider-Man 2 is a real movie, full-blooded and smart, with qualities even for those who have no idea who Stan Lee is. It's a superhero movie for people who don't go to superhero movies, and for those who do, it's the one they've been yearning for"). The Dark Knight was a great thriller but it wasn’t even a decent superhero movie. It is the most overrated movie of all time.
You see, a good super hero movie is the one that is fun and serious at the same time and to some extent exaggerated. But Dark Knight is anything but fun. Actually it is so mature and takes itself so damn seriously that it is no longer recognizable as a superhero movie. That is exactly the same problem I have with the Watchmen comic too. I mean if wanted to waste my time with something so literary and deep, I would go read "War and Peace" or watch the Tarkovsky movies! but It is as I said before a really well-directed and well- acted thriller. By the way, Metacritic reports a score of 83 out of 100 for Spider-Man 2 but a score of 82 out of 100 for the Dark Knight based on the reviews of the top critics! I'd agree with this list. Possibly not in that order, but with the films there, definitely.

I've yet to find myself agreeing with IGN. Today is no exception. TDK even being on that list proves that.

Personally, I like Iron Man more than X2.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is vastly superior to Batman: Gotham Knight. As a matter in fact, I would rank Batman: Mask of the Phantasm #1. Quote:

I have major disagreements with them.where are Batman,Batman
returns,X-Men,The Incredible Hulk? I strongly disagree with X-Men first Class over X2 as best X-men film. Thor and Captain America on list but no Baman,Batman Returns,X-Men, Increible Hulk.Tim Burton's work payed the way for Chris Nolan films and all dark animated films.X-Men revied the entire genre which Baman and Robin virtually killed. The Incredible Hulk Is best marvel studios film.I won't argue with those saying Iron Man Is better but Thor anc captain America? Oh Please. SOrry but the donnor Cut Is the superior version of Superman II. I wouldn't put any Spider-Man films so high on list myself.I had Issues with Sam Rami's films before Spider-Man 3 came out. But,that Is my own personal tastes.Un like Thor, and Captain America I won't argue on their places on list I can understand them on list but again leaving out Batman,Batman returns,X-Men,The Incredible Hulk and putting Thor and Captain America on It?That Is fighting words. |

Hhhmm, would have them in that order, and for me The Rocketeer and TMNT wouldnt make the top 25 and Blade II would be above Blade 1 and Hellboy 2 would definately be on the list.

I'd definitely have included Rocketeer but hell no to TMNT. Hellboy, Ghost World, Watchmen, 300 & The Crow would have a hard time staying on the list as well.

If TMNT had to be there, it should have been the sequel which was definetly better.
Im glad X2 is in the top 10 but Id have put it in top 5. Man thats my favorite comic movie but Im biased Quote:

Great list. I'd move Thor and History of Violence up a few spots, and remove Blade for Hellboy II, but otherwise it's spot on.

I'd have a hard time filling a list of 25 comic book based movies that I'd consider good movies at all. Maybe 20 but that's about the limit to what I've seen.

By the way, the first Spider-Man movie is much much better than Batman Begins which is totally depressing! metacritic scores: Spider-man (2002): 73 out of 100 Batman Begins (2005): 70 out of 100! IGN is Batman's sidekick!
even Batman's feces are gold to IGN! Last edited by mehrabix; 10-26-2011 at 04:26 AM. |
