I'm playing a game on my 57" HDTV.... and I notice the light from the gamepad because of the display from time to time. I mean I understand the gamepad's display for some gameplay.. but if its showing the same image on both displays.. its kinda unnecessary

You're probably not using a HDMI cable.

I am
it's just that the quality of a 720p game doesn't hold up on bigger screens.

If anything its pro that it requires an outlet instead of a system-hookup charge...I realize I never play most of my Wii U games in my room since I can use the tablet to play it anywhere in the house. If I don't want to be stuck in my room, I can take the tablet downstairs. If its battery is low, I can charge it by any outlet downstairs. No need to be anchored with the system itself.

Does anyone have the Pro Controller (or whatever it's called)? I'm curious if you can use that with Wii games that can use the Classic Controller.

I'm fairly sure you can... I'll have to check with a friend of mine who has it...He grabbed that and the REmake in hopes that he could do that.

Nyko Wii U accessories prolong the GamePad's life
(6 hours ago) 32 Nyko's first line of Wii U accessories is all focused on the problem of the GamePad's short battery life. The company has revealed five different devices to help extend playtime, from battery packs to power cables. The UBoost is the traditional add-on battery pack, attaching to the back of the GamePad to extend playtime "upwards of 10 hours." It has a built-in kickstand, replacing the dock as a stand – though the dock still charges the GamePad with the device plugged in. The Charge Base Pro charges two Pro Controllers simultaneously. Other accessories include replacement charging stands and AC adapters for GamePads, and the Charge Link, a handy USB charging cable. You can use the Wii U (or any other powered USB device) to charge the Wii U's controller. What a novel idea! The Charge Link cable is out now for $15, while everything else is due sometime this year.Nyko Wii U Charging Accessories sometime this year.Nyko Wii U Charging Accessories Continue Reading source: Joystiq Last edited by zenith16; 11-30-2012 at 08:02 PM. |

Ya I got a pro controller, sadly it does not work with Wii games (classic controller enabled). Kinda angers me, I hope they fix that with a firmware update.

I have not got it to work with any Virtual Console games. Like Super Metroid ect. I hope they fix this.

The "Wii Mode" is basically an emulator. I doubt they will do anything to change it.

Is the Virtual Console run through the Wii Mode? Or does that only apply to games you've transferred over from your Wii?

From what I know you have to load up Wii mode and then access any Wii VC stuff. It's separated.

Damn, Nyko couldn't have come up with a battery that just fit inside of the GamePad?

And one that didn't look like a freaking stand as well , I guess not. than again they don't have anything that'll turn your tablet screen off as others want(as I don't see this system having soft ware that'll allow for that) let's hope that the update they have planned allows for the pro controller to be of better use too. They seem to have made a stand/chargers for that as well.

So, I went to BestBuy today trying to find a scratch resistant shield to apply on the game tablet & it was pretty difficult to find an adequate size for it. I ended up trying 3 different ones till I found one that fit. Damn you Nintendo for being a pain in the butt!!
Plus the fact, you can't purchase a replacement if something goes wrong with it.

I imagine that once Virtual Console is up and running on eShop, Nintendo will implement a transfer function similar to the Mii transfer and allow us to run Virtual Console games through the Wii U instead. |

so with the Wii U out now, would it still be worth it to pick up a used Wii on the cheap to play Wii games?
I've seen some used Wiis around $70-$80, and I was tempted to pick one up to enjoy the Wii games I missed out on like Skyward Sword and Metroid.

If you're not looking to get the Wii U, which is backwards compatible with Wii games, then go for it. There are a ton of gems on Wii that made the console worth it, IMO.
