Anybody else enjoying the hour+ it takes to even GET INTO the system? The set-up/updates are atrocious. Hopefully, these won't happen often afterwards.

If you haven't already heard, there's a ~5GB system update you have to download. I've read it takes anywhere from 30 min to 4 hours. Don't turn off the power during the update otherwise you'll brick your WiiU. Just a heads up.

Not bad. It's a pretty cool ninja game and considering that I'm having fun with it, I would be willing to bet that it's vastly better over the crappy PS3/360 versions.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Nintendo publish downloadable versions of the first two games. |

Yeah, the set up is a pain in the balls, but the Pikmin taking the Wii data to transfer it to the Wii U was awesome.

Just got my Wii U. I can't get the internet to work, so I guess I'll be playing locally.
NintendoLand's pretty fun, and Arkham City's nice too. |

It was likely an estimation on Kotaku's part based on how long it took to get to a certain percentage. Obviously it varies on your internet and the pace could pick up after awhile.

Yeah, figured...I'd just hate waiting another 4 hours... I've been downloading mine now for almost half an hour and it's over half way done. Yay for speedy connections I guess. Once it's done I'll link it up with my Club Nintendo account.

Also, being able to sync this thing with my cable box and my TV seriously blew me away. I was expecting to be able to do that but actually being able to turn on my cable box, then turn my TV to HDMI 2 for some TV time while still playing the game on my controller (not really interrupting the game while I do this) is mighty impressive.

check this out:
Kurisu: I want people to try Miiverse just by itself, and also try posting to Miiverse from games. If you spot a cool scene, you can post a screenshot by pressing the HOME Button. I truly hope people will actively participate in the communities tied to particular games. Iwata: After you press the HOME Button, you can go from the HOME Button Menu to Miiverse. The game screen that was displayed at the time will be saved as a screenshot that you can post, right? --- it works

I don't think I could be more pleased with NSMBU...Baby Yoshi's are an absolute blast. Now it's time to test out ZombiU... May save Nintendo Land for tomorrow and play it with my son and wife.

I'm very jealous of you guys right now.
I'm saving up for it (between bills, rent, vacation coming up in January it's going to take a while), but hopefully it will be a nice self belated Christmas gift for me and my wife.

My biggest disappointment with the Wii U is (and this was a surprise to me) that neither bundle comes with a Wiimote/nunchuck or (MOST importantly) a Pro Controller.
I read that some games actually won't be compatible with any of the Wii (as in old Wii, NOT Wii U) Classic Controllers. I don't know if that applies to the games I have.
