I had zero interest in this book until this. If this turns out to be the case, I'm super interested! But it'll have to be really well done.

The only argument I can make is that perhaps the page 19 Stegman is doing is a collage of alternate Spider-Man's, something that's been done plenty of times in Spider-Man comics.
I think Slott is just playing with the fans, though I would love if it was who it says.
Slott tweets a lot, he knows the twitter machine and what better way to make it look legit by deleting it?

i do like your idea though, would explain why he was asking on twitter for the panels of Peter freeing himself from the symbiote in the Bell Tower

I didn't know that, so it could possibly be a little retrospective scene Stegman is drawing.

Yep he was, this is why i'm thinking there's some big scene of all the spider-man or all of Peter's defining moments etc occurring

I don't know... I'm thinking that tweet might be a spoiler indeed to the new Spidey's identity. Afterall...
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
...they gave the new Spidey talons... which are something Miguel also has...
(from wikipedia) "Although the original Spider-Man is able to have any part of his body (such as his back) adhere to surfaces through unknown and invisible means, Miguel can only cling to surfaces with his hands and feet due to angled talons protruding from his fingers and toes. These talons are not retractable but can fold down when Miguel concentrates and do so automatically when he touches his own skin so that he does not injure himself (of which he is particularly thankful to discover, as he remarks that otherwise, "going to the bathroom would be an adventure, and picking [his] nose would be lethal"). Though only approximately an inch in length, Miguel O'Hara's talons are capable of easily slicing through flesh and plastic. They can even rend metal armor, possibly because they are also enforced by Miguel's enhanced strength." and "To conceal his identity while he fights his pursuers, Miguel dons a bodysuit with a mask that he once wore for the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. Miguel chooses this costume in particular because it is the only clothing he has that is made from "UMF" (Unstable Molecule Fabric), meaning it is the only clothing he owns that will not be torn or shred by the spider-talons that now occupy his hands and feet."

I believe definitely that there are 3 possibilities of the new Spidey....
1. Roderick Kingsley
2. Miguel O'Hara, Spidey 2099
3. Something else no one has thought of really, and Slott is screwing with the audience

Mr. Slott has gone on record numerous times on Twitter, in interviews, and also even on this very message board saying that he's purposely messing with fans so they will actually have this feeling called "surprise".

However, if that spoiler is true that makes me feel a lot better about this Superior Spider-Man stuff.

OK, I have been avoiding the spoilers, but I did peek at this one.

If this is the route for Superior, I'm not crazy about it, but I'm willing to see what Slott has in mind.

I guess that depends on the origin of the pic.

And could the spider symbol be further off center?

It was done by an artist as a response to the news, not official

if so, it'll nevernevernever EVER last...

I don't care WHO the new Spidey is, no one will EVER be able to replace him for any length of time... the replacement will eventually fade away into obscurity as an asterisk in Spidey 616 history...

bank on it...

That's what I'm thinking. I'm just concerned because Marvel has a tendency in the last 7 or so years to make everything in the regular universe like the ultimate universe (i.e. Nick Fury Jr., Captain America being more and more impulsive/pigheaded like Ultimate Cap, making costumes more similar to their ultimate counterparts, etc.). I love Miles, but I want at least one book with Peter as Spider-man.
