Some cinematic parallels between TDKR and IM 3.

Some comparisons -

* Broken Bat Cowl = Broken IM Helmet,

* Hermit Bruce Wayne = Recluse Tony Stark.

* Ten Rings Organization similar to League to Shadows,

* Mandarin similar to Ras Al Ghul (or Bane.)

* Hero emerges from -The pit in the case of Bruce Wayne to rise once again = the cave or some place in the snow for Tony Stark.

I doubt the average movie goer will over analyse that or even care if they do.

Another Marvel movie for me to compare to a Nolan Batman film

I think of similarities between the first Spider-Man film and TDK, the main villain to be specific

The movie is entertaining beyond this chaos
Rhodey didn't bring the suit to Justin Hammer if I recall. Rhodey brought the suit to the military who had a contract with Hammer. Him jumping on board to work on the suit was a surprise to Rhodey even.

That sucks! I hold my Watchmen copy very close to the chest(not literally) because it's one of my favorite films of all time, and not just one of my favorite CBMs.

Well Shane Black did obviously go with something darker, lol. But, while comparisons could be made, I think the overall Phase 2 of the MCU will be much darker anyways than Phase 1 which is NOT copying when they're trying to go for a different aspect in the next Phase.

We've seen a broken IM mask in the last two installments though.

But...the way they handled the Ten Rings feels very similar to the League of Shadows, especially being prominent in the first and third films, not so much in the second.

Similarities are pretty shallow and come to main villains, but I've been thinking about it, and came with this

Raimi's Green Goblin similarities to TDK Joker:
  • The main antagonist who in the series he's in shown to kill more people than the rest of the villains in the series
  • "They look at you as a freak, like me" speech. It's the speech topic that is similar, not the way it's delivered
  • Trying to change a view of one of the main heroes. Goblin was at Spider-Man, Joker aimed it at Harvey
If IM3 shoots more similarities to Nolan's franchise, bigger, more, and much easier to notice and remember, it could be the best Marvel film to date
COULD

Indeed but one would expect more from them anyway. Oh, Mandarin talks in a coldly calm and intimidating voice...must be a copy of Nolan's Bane. Oh, Mandarin is a terrorist leader...must be a copy of Nolan's Ra's al Ghul and League of Shadows. Oh, Iron Man's mask is broken...must be a copy of The Dark Knight Rises. Oh, Stark seems beaten and alone in the snow...must be a copy of Bruce in the Pit in TDKR (seriously, wtf?). Oh, the trailer had a very serious tone...must be a copy of Nolan (again, wtf?).

Soon people will even start to say "Oh, Mandarin destroys Tony's home...must be a copy of Ra's burning down Bruce's!".

It's not only from the GA, I've read these things at SHH! as well. Nolan is great and all but some people sure love the taste of his...thing...a little too much.

I mean, when I read people say ASM is a wannabe Batman film then I'm just . Of course it took inspiration from the success, but to say that Spider-Man is more active at night because of the director trying to copy Batman, even though there's an obvious logic to it (him trying to have time for studies as well), that's just ridiculous. The whole film was about the origin of Spider-Man in a sense? Must be wannabe Batman Begins! Spider-Man creates web shooters just like in the comics? Must be wannabe Batman! The film didn't have fluff all over it? Must be wannabe Nolan's Batman!

Sigh!

Cause Iron Man 1 as well is an obvious TDKR wannabe as well

Tony trapped in a cave with one guy talking to him = Bale's Batman in TDKR
Tony's helmet broken by Stane = Batman's Mask broken by Bane
Obidiah wanting to steal Stark Enterprise = Bane succeeding in stealing Wayne Enterprise

Iron Man 1 is a shameless coopycat stealing ideas from TDKR

It copied it so much that it came out a few months before it.

Even though a comparison would make much better sense with Ra's al Ghul as both leaders of terrorist groups.

Ehh. That's kinda overreaching really. There's more similarities to Lizard and Scarecrow than any other Spidey villain seen in a film with any of Nolan's Batvillains.

The similarities of Mandarin and Ra's al Ghul are clearly there, but....do we need to really moan and groan over it? It's far worse to complain about it being compared when it will anyways. Both leaders of terrorists groups, both villains being grounded with no fantastical element.

Just because we are semi talking about the Dark Knight Trilogy...everyone should read this as it's simply AMAZING. It was posted by J. Howlett in the TDKR boards, but I think this is a good read for everyone, and as well as some who view TDKR as a film that doesn't match up with BB or TDK.

Which means nothing for me. I'm still gonna walk everywhere. What's the worst that can happen.

The movie looks to be influenced from TDKR in way that it concentrates on a fallen hero who rises.Still its just a 2 minutes trailer and could be misleading

Thats all,the broken mask we have seen before, comparing Mandarin to Bane/Ra's is pre-mature at this point,He looks very different in chracter from what we has yet seen.Emerging hero is also pushing too much.Need to see more of Ten Rings aswell

All this sucking up to Christopher Nolan by loads of fans is sickening
Seriously, I get that his movies are great and other movie makes could use his work for inspiration , and wanting something like that is a good thing
But either it's done or not those movie viewers still give it the & looks

Makes me want to
