As I said, of course directors take inspiration from Nolan.

However, it's one thing to take inspiration from something, and another trying to ape the exact same things.

Nolan's Batman fanboys however grasp for straws when they claim that all those things are direct copies of Nolan's films.

Having a film take on serious stuff is NOT trying to be Nolan. Nolan didn't invent seriousness in film making. But some people think Nolan created the universe.

I love Nolan's trilogy as much as the next one. I consider his three Batman films to be in the top 5 CBMs ever, with TDK at the top. But one must admit that the majority of those comparisions I wrote about earlier are really, really, really ****ing stupid, ignorant and arrogant.

Mandarin and Ra's al Ghul may both be terrorists from east but as far as we know yet, that's about it. Does Mandarin try to destroy Tony's city because of the corruption? Sure doesn't seem that way. Was Mandarin Tony's mentor? I don't think so. Did Ra's al Ghul use AK's and guns? Not as far as I remember.

Tony being beaten and exhausted in the snow doesn't really scream "TDKR!!" to me. Have you never seen a beaten superhero in a film before or did Nolan invent that too? Those scenes don't seem to be anything like each other.

The broken mask? As others have said, that has happened to Tony before. Also, it's not really THAT original that it should be Nolan's thing. Broken masks have been used to show the downfall of a character many times before in comics etc. But hey, of course that's another invention of Nolan.

For Tony to have nightmares after what he's been through is a natural thing in the progression of the character. It has to affect him in some way. That's not wannabe Nolan either.

Comparing Mandarin to Bane because of his voice is ridiculous when they don't even sound that similar.

The ONLY thing I could see is ironically what I joked about before: that Mandarin destroys Tony's home. But would you really think Shane Black thought "Hey I wanna have this in the film because Nolan did it!". I don't think so. First of all, it's not THAT original or revolutionary of an idea to begin with. Secondly, Tony's home called for something like this to happen. It's just too perfect not to do it since how awesome and special that home is and since it is placed in such a risky way AND since everyone knows that Tony is Iron Man. So even this thing isn't a Nolan rip off in any way.

But of course you go "hey it's just a comparision!" and "don't complain about it!" since you're a Nolan fanboy yourself. I'm a huge fan of Nolan...but you're a fanboy. So this isn't really surprising.

The only comparison I make between Nolan's Batman and Iron Man is that they're both trying to be grounded in realism, which is something I can get behind since they do, in a way, make me think that if someone had the tech of Tony Stark, or the training and preparation of Bruce Wayne, I could go out and fight crime/make a difference/ect ect. But that's just my wild imaginative thinkin'

Maybe we should change the subject
Watching Cellular right now, it's a movie starring Chris Evans and Jason Statham, interesting film, very entertaining
It's about a lady being kidnapped and kept hostage in her own house, by mistake she calls a strange guy his ex-girlfriend left cause she saw him irresponsible

No one said one thing is copying the other, only that it can be compared. The Ten Rings? A terrorist organization who's leader has no more fantastical element. The League of Shadows? A terrorist organization who's leader had no fantastical element. I'm sure between the lines, they are very different and we can already see the difference as the League was full of ninja, the Ten Rings weren't, but the comparisons are there and can be made. It's worse when other fanboys are whining about the comparisons when they can be easily made.

And I still stand by the fact that even when someone mentioned inspiration from Nolan, other fans still try to disprove it when their film has some element taking a cue from Nolan and they all wish that Nolan never existed now because they ALWAYS trash on Nolan and his films. Sorry if they're great that gives away inspiration after inspiration? Does anyone really think there'd be a TAS-M without Batman Begins? Does anyone think there'd be a Casino Royale, Skyfall, Iron Man, Star Trek, Sherlock Holmes? And yet everyone hates on Nolan as soon as those directors mentioned the name of the director that inspired them.

Will it also be compared if they use Aunt May and JJJ? It makes no sense to compare it, they can use any character they want. Unfortunately, most Raimi fans are not that bright, I expect them to compare the streetlights.

This Hurricane is getting worse. Some people like 40 minutes away from me are gonna get evacuated. I hope I survive and get to see TASM2.

Since the discussion of Nolan imitation won't dissipate sooner

I'm watching the first Transporter movie right now, people Frank had a deal with blow his house up
Much like Bruce Wayne & Ras AlGhul (**** the ', it's Ras, read Raas, not Razz, not Raysh)

Lol. No, no...but I did do that with Spider-Man 3. When the DVD was released I went with some friends to Best Buy, bought S-M 3, opened it and scratched it with my keys before breaking the disc while my friend yelled out 'This movie sucked!'.

Over time I realize it was childish, but it was funny as hell

In the end you spent $20-$30 to break a disc. Good for you.
