50 days!? Man that has come SO quickly! I remember thinking that it seemed like the Hobbit was a million years away from release.

I hope it lives up to the hype. Trailers didn't wow me too much.

That boat house, and the barn and the sailing scenes. It's just much more grounded and sprawling. Every time I see these shots of Ironman laying or walking in the snow it just screams Mirror Mirror caliber sound stage work. Marvel has consistently fallen short on this front for me. From Faverau to Thor(TnT) to much of Cap(the worst for me). For me personally this entire universe has had sort of a made for TV vibe. Avengers helped ironically.

I'd kill for those shots of stark in the snow to be white out atmosphere with blood oozing from his suit and staining the snow. Instead it's that surface level marvel stuff I've been getting. Long story short, I'm more impressed with the MoS visual direction at this point. Much stronger. I hope this remains consistent with the Metropolis and Krypton locations.

Personally I dig both approaches. I love both the visuals in the MoS trailer and the Iron Man 3 trailer, even though they are very different indeed. In their own contexts, the feeling they are going for, they work great.

I'm willing to be patient if the result is something worth the wait.

I'll just be pretty annoyed if we go through all this waiting and then get a marketing campaign that is a big anti climax.

except TDKR was the 3rd, final film in a successful franchise.

MOS is the start of a new franchise. so, I'd probably hype up MOS more and earlier than I would with TDKR.

GL was just marketed too late.
The fact that the movie had so many VFX shots and the first teaser featured obvious incomplete VFX work didn't help either.
By the time all the shots were done , WB marketing finally kicked into high gear but by then it was too late.

Good or bad marketing, it doesn't matter that much. Not if the film is bad in itself. Word of mouth will prevail in the end.
