Oh definitely. An Arkham City/Uncharted 3 style Man of Steel game for me, please and thank you!

I'd rather the stories told in the video game not be hindered by trying to fit with the films story. I want a good Superman game.

I think we should count our blessings we haven't got a movie tie-in game. I'd love a good Superman game, but they seem to have trouble with that concept alone without the constraints of a movie tie-in.

If you made a game that was exactly like the movie it was based on, it would be far too short because even the most action packed movies don't have enough action sequences to make levels of. Goldeneye, for example, has James Bond visiting Severnaya twice when he doesn't go there once in the movie. Then there's the silo which isn't based on anything from the movie at all.

Yeah, but Goldeneye, still had to use 006 as the villain and follow the main plot of Goldeneye. I'd rather this game be entirely separate, so it can create its own mythology, like the Batman series.

True but Goldeneye's a classic. I don't think using the general plot is a hindrance to gameplay at all, but there needs to be additions to fill it out.

As much as I'd love to have a Superman equivalent of the Arkham series, I think a MOS-based game would be a good safe starting point for a potential good Superman game. Look at Spider-Man 2, had villains/characters and plot points not even in the film but was largely regarded as the best Superhero game before the Arkhams.

The movie should be in its final post-production phases by now. They should be doing the final dubbing and score recording in a few weeks...

Question. Where does the name 'Man of Steel' originate from. I assume the comics. Was it before John Byrne's reboot or did he come up with it. And what's it supposed to mean? That he is tougher than steel? Is that it?

It's been used to describe him since the 1930's....it means that he is a man as tough as steel (bullets bounce off of him, cars and trains wreck when they hit him, men break their hands when they punch him).

They way I would do the JL film, would be to have Bruce Wayne/Batman be a mysterious backdrop character who is studying/spying/researching the members of the JL. Then in the 3rd act of the JL film or towards the end, Bruce/Batman reveals himself to the JL and it winds up being Bale playing him. The fanboys and general movie going public would crap a brick and their jaws would drop and everyone in the theater would clap and everyone would absolutely love it. That's just the way I would do it personally....and it would kick ass. WB's won't be able to think outside the box like that and they wouldn't be able to persuade Bale to do it. It's too bad really. It would be a wasted opportunity IMO. |

I loved the Spider-Man 2 game. I've yet to play Arkhams. Heard they were fantastic. The Superman game 6 years ago was decent, but could have been better.

Just saw the first Iron Man 3 trailer; okay, whoever thought that it'd be a smart move to release the teaser that we officially got versus the one that they had available at Comic Con...I can't understand their logic at all.lol
I'm not going to say that I think Iron Man 3 is going to be better than MOS or vice versa; that's not what this is about. I just wish that DC and Warner bros. would have released something that would have made or attempt to have made a big statement about the film like how the latest iron man 3 trailer did. |

You took the words right out of my mouth. In fact i was just about to make a similar post about this. MoS started shooting earlier then IM3 and also finished earlier. Yet only the CC crowd got a "good" trailer and whereas cinema goers got some wailing lady singing with Malick inspired visuals and only a shot of supes breaking the sound barrier. The IM3 trailer was a teaser but it hit the right notes and we got little glimpses of action. Makes you wonder why Warner Brothers isnt promoting MoS better.

There been a few first teasers for other blockbuster films that have shown a lot more in them than what we got with MOS for its first teaser.
