Ollie needs to put on an over-the-top Bale voice then when he's Green Arrow. Arrow can say "swear to me!"

Well I wouldnt go that far but it was funny when Ollie said "leverage" to Laurel in a raspy voice. In my mind I went "...to get things moving"

I just cant wait till this show gets out of Batman and Superman territory. I always feel like the Arrow/Dinah scenes are esstentially Superman/Lois scenes.

Jeff Lemire is taking over the Green Arrow comic with #17 in February. Looks like the New 52 Green Arrow comics will finally be good!

![]() Just seen episode 3... really enjoying the show now. It's steadily improving. It's still Batman-lite though. Just makes me want to watch Batman Begins again.

Most shows take at least 6 episodes to find their own groove I think.

Oh we will definitely see Deadshot again. I want an episode where two assassins or bad guys go at it because GA puts them against one another.

Its sort of interesting what they are doing on the show. He was trapped on an island for 5 years where it was kill or be killed. Where he had to fight every day to survive and where he was tortured and everything. Now he comes home and its like he is still on the island. He kills his enemies without seeing its wrong and flips out with violent rage when his loved ones are threatened. Its not like he came home and decided to be a superhero, instead he came home and is still living by the island way of life. I like that, that he came home and wasn't interested in being a hero, he was simply going after the names in the book that his father told him about using the survival techniques he used on the island. Its almost like he doesn't see his methods as wrong or not needed now that he is home, almost.

Yeah, I agree with you there about the island mentality. I think Diggle will be the one to help him with that and show him what it means to be a hero in the eyes of the people while still keeping the kick ass menacing persona to his enemies. the 'conscious' of arrow as digs put it basically.
It could be a really interesting character study the next few episodes, if they execute it right.

This show feels like the Count of Monte Cristo sometimes, with Ollie being on an island for several years, acquiring new skills, and now getting rid of people on a check list.

While I'm enjoying it I do feel a little too much was inspired by BB.
Is this what Smallville is like? Meaning, if I like this would I like Smallville? |

Well, first, don't be shocked. There are powers..jk. They are pretty different in terms of tone. I personally loved Smallville. It's not perfect by any means, but hell, nothing ever is.. I think it's worth at least a 2 season look at if you're coming in blind and never seen it before.

There are people who love that show but I fall almost in the opposite spectrum.

Smallville is a bit more teen drama than Arrow...Arrow is more action-oriented. We see Oliver as his alter ego already whereas on Smallville it took 10 seasons to see Clark as Superman lol. I liked Smallville, more of a fan of the early seasons (1-3)

If Arrow becomes CW's biggest show do you see them prolonging it for 10 seasons or close to it.
