Rogue just absorbing Colossus' super-strength wouldn't make much sense. She already used his powers in X3 and she absorbed his metal skin as well.

Well, she would have his metal skin as well, while using his powers. Simple.

Well since when has Rogue been able to pick and choose which powers she absorbs? It's all or nothing. And if it were somehow selective, how do you know she won't end up as metal weather controlling Rogue with no super strength or flying ability?

If she wants strength and flying ability she needs to absorb someone with powers similar to Ms Marvel. Which mutants are there around like that? Or maybe they'll have to create one who dies at the start of the movie just so Rogue can acquire those powers.

The beauty of this one is that we could have tons of incarcerated mutants she could absorb from! Or maybe a Ms Marvel type who is dying from a Sentinel blast, she puts her out of her misery and acquires her power

She'd have to develop control over the various powers she absorbed so she could tap into them separately.

Not sure who there is that fulfils those criteria. Maybe M or perhaps they can use Ms Marvel's phase as the mutant Binary? Both those come with other powers too, but the film could ignore those.

I'm so glad Ellen is coming back for the role. So excited.

It's the first time we've had the same actress playing Kitty for more than one movie.

Ha, I knew it. I could tell that a main influence of the First Class film besides James Bond was Star Trek 2009. The exploration of the dynamic between Charles and Erik in the film reminded me so much of Kirk and Spock in that film as well as how the team around them was handled. If you want a clue on how timetravel will be handled in DOFP then check out Abrams' Star Trek if you already haven't.

Bryan Singer Is a huge longtime Star Trek fan.

The connecting dots between films and doing cleaning up comments from Singer doesn't jibe with the hope some here are advocating of erasing all X-Men films besides First Class.

I don't think they'll necessarily erase them but we will be set down an alternative timeline path going forward from the 70s. With it being set in the 70s I wouldn't be surprised if Charles meets Jean at the end of the film.

RIGHT???????

I don't know what to make of that quote honestly. Is she the time traveller? Or is she just doing awesome stuff but in a small role? Does she have a main role in the future? WHAT?

Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Romijn's First Class cameos connect dots between films, but that doesn't remove the fact that Fox and Singer are willing to alter or reboot ideas that hold them back, which is why Xavier and Erik do not meet when they are 17 and why Emma Frost and Riptide are completely different versions of characters already featured in X-Men Origins. If anything doesn't jibe, it's the acknowledgement that Singer is a huge Star Trek fan, a franchise that just successfully altered its timeline, and the acknowledgement that Singer is going to do some clean up but that, despite those points, things are going to remain the same.

Wouldn't it be fun if there were a scene where there's some instability in the space-time continuum and she ends up momentarily looking like each of the previous Kitty actresses before changing back to Ellen?

Its going to be hard to include Origins in the timeline. Specially since it ends with Wolvie in Japan in the late 70s & Mangold's movie has him in Japan post-X3.

Did he go to Japan twice?

And I guess Kayla's sister with the diamond-hard skin wasn't Emma Frost?

i don't think anyone wants X1 or 2 Erased but i believe some want X3 Erased and some want a new timeline created similar to star trek

Because that's not possible in a person's lifetime?

That's what I've been wondering, whether they will address that this is a second trip to Japan or not address it at all.

I hope mutants have "M" tattooed on their face. Even though it's a different...timeline or whatever...these movies merge the best concepts together. THAT is much more efficient and dark/scary than a jumpsuit with M on it.
