I can't link the footage but I recommend checking out this news site I frequent known as Hypable.com, completely unrelated though.

Marvel's strategy on this is incomprehensible. They know very well that Ant-Man faces a lot of skepticism even from the geek community, not to mention the rest of the world. Despite that, they're withholding a video clip that's less than one minute long and could get a whole lot more people excited about the character and the film.


It doesn't make sense, even if they rationalize by saying they want to save exclusives for people who attend conventions. That's a small percentage of the potential audience that they're reaching with the footage, and descriptions are not the same as seeing it.

I could see it if they were putting out a legit copy so people wouldn't be watching a low quality bootleg. I read that it was going to be on the Phase 1 boxed set so maybe that's why.

Same thing happened with the Kick Ass 2 red band trailer. I started a thread on that on another forum and had to edit a new link in a half dozen times because Viacom kept taking it down. The mind boggles.

I liked what I saw in that concept footage. They're definitely headed in the right direction.

I liked it. And I liked what the director said once, that in movies we always saw 'miniature' people in danger (Honey, I Shrunk the Kids; Fantastic Voyage), but this time they use that the other way around, which we haven't seen. I think the possibilites are interesting.

Ummm...because studios don't put out test footage?? The final concept might not even look like this, why would they put out something that may end up having very little correlation with the finished product? That would just serve to create negative buzz.

There is that, but also as I just said moments ago on the other Ant-Man thread, what if Marvel Studio's is planning to attach this footage with the Marvel Cinematic Universe Box Set coming out on April 2nd. Yeah, it might be unlikely, but it is not a far stretch to imagine a box set to include some extras, and it would explain them not wanting most people to see the leaked footage, because they want people to obtain it by getting the box set. I mean don't misunderstand me, I am probably completely wrong on thinking it could be included, but on the other hand to me it doesn't seem that unimaginable for it to be there either.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, the guy who did the drawings and animated accounting of the test footage shown a year ago must of had like a photographic memory or something, because it was pretty spot on. Still nicer to see a closer to finished product though.

That is what I was mentioning / questioning just a few quotes earlier, but are you stating it's a good possibility it will be included because of something you have heard or seen, or are you just thinking it makes sense that it might be included like I do.

Seeing the test footage really cemented this film as my most anticipated, well aside from Avengers 2, coming MCU film. Ant-Man inherently is a bit silly, but that's part of why he is so awesome to me.
