Another crazy....and very very geeky on my part...suggestion.

Nathan Fillion, an ex-Imperial, a bit of a drunk jumping from job to job...usually smuggling because ex Imperials are not exactly looked on fondly.

i know right? Me too. But also...putting my geekiness aside...he IS a good choice for Star WArs. He has massive charisma...which is what the OT had with Harrison Ford.

And seeing Nathan as a burnt out Imperial down on his luck, despised on every planet would just be awesome.

Wow, I had no idea Zahn came up with Coruscant, nor catching force lighting with a light saber. It's cool to see what his stories have contributed to the film mythos.

Hmmm, Nathan Filion playing a roguish space smuggler who is reduced to the life of a mercenary for being on the losing side of a galactic civil war ... nope, sorry, I can't see how that would work.

I knew Zahn came up with Coruscant, but didn't know about the whole catching Force Lightning thing. It makes me wonder how much the EU influenced the prequels. Like Aayla Secura being in the EU before Episode II.

nah, they're not the only kinds of fans that do that, they're probably just the best example. I've seen manga fans that stayed reading week after week mangas that have been lasting for more or less a decade just to complain.

^lol

Related to that point
I think it's funny how much whining I've seen on various websites like,
"Oh my god, Disney's gunna ruin Star Wars! Goodbye Childhood!!"

And I'm just like
"You do remember what George Lucas just did to Star Wars, right??"

I'm cautiously excited to see where all this goes.

I hope Nathan Fillion isn't in this. I've always liked the guy, but Firefly fans get on my nerves when they say things like "NO ONE BUT NATHAN FILLION SHOULD PLAY HAN SOLO/GREEN LANTERN/INDIANA JONES." So, screw them.

I actually like Nathan Fillion and I love Firefly but yeah, it is annoying.

The only roles I've wanted Fillion for was Nathan Drake and Hal Jordan(at least we have a few animated films with his voice).

Wasn't Firefly formed after Joss Whedon's idea of what Han Solo's day to day life would be like?

I just like constantly disappointed Nathan Fillion fans. Why? BECAUSE they usually are! That's why I never want to see him in a huge tentpole film. Because it will give them more hope. Better to get their hopes up I say and then crush them. It's very satisfying.

Seriously though. Nathan Fillion fans are like mosquitos. Whenever there is a potential major role that suits him, they are annoying and they never leave until they're crushed with hope. My God, Nathan Fillion doesn't even want to play freaking Ant Man.

The same way some people suggest Tom Hardy, Bradley Cooper, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, etc. For virtually every superhero?

Or Chris Nolan, Matthew Vaughn, zack Snyder, or Brad Bird should be attached to every "geek" property ever.

Cartoon Network was showing a Lego Star Wars show, don't know if it's a one-time thing but it had some funny inside jokes to it.

Does anyone feel that it would be too much if they included something like a Jedi being able to use the force to make them fly at super speed within the films?

And better yet, how would you guys feel if they actually had people who could use the force in the manner that they had Galek doing in the Force Unleashed games?
