Toy Story 3 was my favorite of all of them. So that is really good news to me, his resume impresses me. I think he could do wonders with it.

Wow the whole Trilogy's scripted out already. Things keep going this fast, we might as well release all 3 next year!

It's good they got someone who understands his movie concepts so well. I am slightly worried about the old characters coming back. I don't know seeing the forever after sometimes proves disapointing.

I have not heard anything about Episode II, I kinda wonder if they scratched the idea.

That's cool that there's treatments for all three. Hopefully, this gets away from some of the problems of rushing things like in the prequels.

What I'd like to see:

For returning characters, a MUST is See-Threepio and Artoo-Detoo. Even back in the day, Lucas said the only characters that would be in all nine movies would be the droids.

And Mark Hamil should be back as Luke. Luke should be the leader of the new Jedi Council and serve as the "old Ben Kenobi" role in the new film. I think Han and Leia would be more cameos in the first film. Perhaps Leia is the Chancellor of the New Republic.

The main characters should be new however. Since now that Star Wars is no longer the "story of Anakin/Vader," the saga should be related to the Skywalker family. Three trilogies, three generations. The new main characters should be two males and one female (following the Obi-Wan/Padme/Anakin and Luke/Leia/Han traditions) and at least one be a Skywalker, either an offspring of Luke's and/or a child(ren) of Han & Leia.

why. c3po was only annoying in the prequel and was written without the enduring charm that he has in the OT.

We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.

This is what I loved about C3PO in the OT. He was always paranoid and worried. The PT really didn't show that.

A little question, who choreographed the fights in the Prequel Movies? Did they have different guys? All the same guy? Because the Qui-Gon and Oby-Wan fight Vs Darth Maul is still my favorite and all the other fights are pretty meh to me.

I want them to get a guy that can replicate the awesomeness from the Old Republic MMO cinematics.

Also, these guys do an awesome job, so expect someone who gets a huge paycheck to do even better.

It kind of fits...he wasn't involved in an intergalatic war in the PT. hehe

OK, I want to see a scene where Han walks up to Luke and is all like "Hey kid, it's been a while" and Luke just grins "Kid??"

My trailer:
Open up in space.
Grand space battle between the New Republic vs whatever the enemy is.
A general watches the scene and frowns.
General: "We are losing everything we fought so hard for."
Tech: Sir, a ship is request clearance to land. They're using old codes.

Landing gear sets down...we don't see the whole ship.
Several troopers run out to meet the ship. The ramp comes down.
Han Solo, older, exits the Millennium Falcon. He looks at all the troopers
Han: I got a bad feeling about this.
The general stares in disbelief.
A cloaked figure exits the falcon and removes his hood. Its Luke.
Luke: I'm Luke Skywalker. I'm here to help.

I think having droids in it is a must. It's just a cool tradition having them in all of the movies.

From Wiki:

Despite its mixed critical reception, The Phantom Menace was a major financial success, breaking many box office records in its debut. It broke The Lost World: Jurassic Park's records for the largest single-day gross with more than $28 million in the opening day (surpassed in 2001 by Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone), and fastest to $100 million gross in five days (surpassed in 2002 by Spider-Man). It also became the fastest movie to reach the $200 million and $300 million mark, surpassing Independence Day and Titanic respectively. The Phantom Menace was 1999's most successful film, earning $431,088,295 domestically (in North America) and $493,229,263 in other territories for a worldwide total of $924,317,558. At that time, the film ranked as the third highest grossing film of all time domestically (behind Titanic and Star Wars), and the second highest grossing film of all time worldwide (behind Titanic) when not adjusting for inflation of ticket prices. When adjusting for ticket price inflation, it ranked as the 19th highest grossing film domestically (making it the fourth Star Wars film to be in the Inflation-Adjusted Top 20). International grosses which exceeded $10 million included Australia ($25.9 million), Brazil ($10.4 million), France and Algeria ($43 million), Germany ($53.9 million), Italy ($12.9 million), Japan ($109.9 million), Mexico ($12 million), Spain ($25 million), and the United Kingdom and Ireland ($81.9 million).[108]
After its 3D re-release in 2012, the total worldwide box office gross surpassed $1 billion. Although the film had lost some of its rankings in the various lists of highest grossing films in the intervening years, the 3D re-release returned the film to the Worldwide All-Time Top Ten for several months (it is currently in 11th place). In North America, it overtook the original Star Wars as the most financially successful film in the saga when not adjusting for inflation of ticket prices, and is currently the fifth highest grossing film of all time domestically. Also domestically, it increased its rank on the Adjusted for Ticket Price Inflation list to 16th place (one place behind Return of the Jedi). The 3D re-release, which premiered in February 2012, earned $43 million worldwide on its opening weekend ($22.5 million of which was in North America). To date, the 3D re-release has made total of $102,727,119 worldwide (including $43.5 million domestically), and has increased the film's overall box office takings to $474.5 million domestically, and $552.5 million in other territories. The film crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide on February 22, 2012, making it the first Star Wars film to accomplish this feat and the eleventh film in history to do so, not taking inflation into account. Its current worldwide total stands at $1,027,044,677.

Yeah, Star Wars 7 will be a licence to print money:

You've got the 35-50 year olds who watched the original trilogy, plus the 18-30 year olds who grew up on the prequel trilogy, plus the new generation of kids who will likely see a big screen Star Wars movie for the first time in 2015.

Target market: everybody.
