For many, Ewoks served as the cute and cuddly mascots for the "Star Wars" films. But Warwick Davis, who played an Ewok named Wicket in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," says that they weren't as snuggly as they seemed.

"There are Star Wars fans who don’t appreciate Ewoks for what they were," Davis said in an interview with the UK's Metro. "We kicked arse and helped the rebels defeat the Empire. Without us, what would have happened? But some people see Ewoks as an excuse to sell merchandise; they were ‘too cute’ and so on. That’s a minority view within the Star Wars community. When I go to the events, everyone is usually happy to see me. Those are the sort of people who look forward to playing the Star Wars video games where you get to be a Stormtrooper and kill Ewoks. They know who they are."

He's the type that did whatever his boss would tell him to do. George made sure to surrounded himself with people that he liked and would do whatever he told them to do, yes men!

What went wrong with the Prequels is there was no one there to tell George what he was doing was wrong! Marcia his ex wife was the one to do that for him. She was very much involved in the creative process with his films, ideas and being his film editor.

My parents were fans of this singer Harry Chapin, and he had this song called "30,000 Pounds of Bananas" that used to crack up me and my sister all the time because the running joke was that he couldn't come up with a decent ending to the song, and every version he tried was interrupted by one of his brothers telling him "Harry, it sucks."

I've always said George needed at least one of Harry Chapin's brothers with him when he was writing the prequels.

Report: Empire Strikes Back Writer Could Be Working On New Star Wars Spinoff

Let the Star Wars rumor mill continue to churn. A couple of weeks ago, rumors suggested that Disney had tapped Empire Strikes Back writer Lawrence Kasdan and X-Men writer Simon Kinberg to write new Star Wars movies. Disney has said they plan to release a new Star Wars every two to three years.

But wait! Now The Hollywood Reporter says that Kasdan and Kinberg might not be writing Episode VIII or Episode IX: they're working on spinoff projects that might wind up being new entities entirely.

"Their scripts could turn into official 'Episodes' in the main Skywalker storyline, or they could form the basis for spinoffs focusing on side characters," THR writes.

Star Wars: The Boba Fett Experience? R2D2 Strikes Back? The possibilities are endless.

I don't really want spin offs in the normal sense but a new Star Wars outside of the Skywalker line could work (as well as Episodes VII - IX). Would be great to dig into some other aspects of the SW universe from the point of view of non Jedi in a different set of films as long as production values are equal to the other films.

I'm not a huge anime fan. but any one of miyzaki's films are infinitely more artistically resonant than revenge of the sith.
