Default Favorite adaptation of the Lizard?

So I apologize if this had already been brought up, or if there is a poll of this already, so close this if need be, but I have a question I wanted to ask and thought a poll would work. I was wondering who you all would say is the best adaptation of the Lizard. And the choices are...

Lizard in the '67 Spider-Man series

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Lizard in the '81 Spider-Man series

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Lizard in Spider-Man: The Animated Series

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Lizard in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Lizard in The Spectacular Spider-Man

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:
(the only clip I could find that isn't pirated on YouTube)

If you prefer any adaptation in a Spidey video game, please vote 'Other', as I am not aware of any really good interpretation of the villain in a video game, so I won't be posting anything of those on here.

Make your pick!

The Spectacular Spider-Man's Lizard by miles when compared to all the others but the one of the 90's version. That one is a close second.

It's the Spectacular version that I wanted to see in the movie, or at least by the end of it,getting more reptilian every time he transforms, since he kept injecting himself with stronger doses of the serum. I think he should've changed to that mindless beast who could kill his own son by the time he had his last battle in the movie, like in SSM.

My favorite version of the Lizard is definitely the Spider-man TAS one, though I think that TSSM's Lizard episode was better than TAS's

I just remembered about Lizard in the Enter Electro game. He was like the Spectacular version. It was a really tense battle. I like this one a lot, too:

Definitely TSSM for me, though I think in an actual film rather than a one-off episode, something along the lines of TAS (ie. having the Lizard switch between being intelligent and bestial) or doing a progression would work better than just having him be feral the entire time. Great design, and I think Lizard stories work best when they boil down to being about saving a man's soul and helping his family not lose a loved one, rather than stopping some sort of comic book evil mastermind plot. Though I can get why TASM may have needed something like that in order to have a large-scale climax, even if the whole 'turn New Yorkers into reptiles' thing was kind of cheesy.

HOWEVER -- I know we're talking mostly about the Lizard himself here, but I think what TSSM also got right was Martha and Billy. I just really felt the family dynamic here and I liked how both of them also played a more active role in the story than the usual 'sit around and worry a lot' stuff. I know it's a cliche now to turn female characters from the comics who weren't scientists into scientists in adaptations, but I liked the change for Martha in TSSM.

And the whole ending where Peter looks at a photograph of himself with Uncle Ben and decides he did the right thing despite the aftermath -- after watching ASM (and being annoyed that Billy was cut out), I was actually thinking of that scene. And it struck me that with father figures being such a big theme in the new film, it's weird they'd cut out an important one like that. Plus it would have given Peter a selfless reason to save Curt/stop the Lizard that fits into that greater theme if he was also motivated to make sure another kid didn't lose a father the way he already lost two, even. If we throw Martha in, it could even be that he's trying not to let another woman go through what Aunt May did in losing a husband.

I think the 90s cartoon version and TASM Lizard tie, cause a lot about that movie reminded me of the pilot episode of the 90s cartoon

I never liked the early lizards, including 90's Lizard.
Tough pick between TSSm or TASM.
I say TASM, in my opinion.

90s cartoon Lizard should be included with the modern versions, he's not far from them

Agree on both parts. "Night of the Lizard" actually got me into the character of Lizard and that was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in regards to that series as a whole(my favorite episode of the series) and made me really enjoy the villain of Lizard, but when "Natural Selection" first aired...that beat "Night of the Lizard", imo. Just the brutality of Lizard in that episode and us seeing him almost eat human beings(which made Lizard much more fierce in a cartoon than Lizard in a film, lol).

Didn't say the Lizard was corny. The master plan was, but even then...did I rather like the look of Lizard? Not really.

They involved the city? They involved the city poorly by not even having the SWAT Lizards even go up against Spidey.

They were still on their arses in pain halfway through transformation

I personally think all of those Lizard motifs are just about the same, besides the 67 series version, which shouldn't even be mentioned. Personally, I like Todd McFarlane's Torment version of The Lizard (mind control not included). That's the kind of Lizard I wanted to see on screen...a killing machine with no Curt Conners left within him.

Hands down the best Lizard ever, if this was on the Poll it would have won and got my vote.

Film-wise, I can sort of see why it would be impractical to have the Lizard be totally mindless though -- in order to make sure you had several action scenes spread through the film, you'd have to have the transformation happen early on and last for most of the film, which doesn't really give many opportunities for the actor to actually act and for the character's human side to come out. of course, one can argue that's why it may have been a better idea for a villain like the Lizard to come later in a Spidey film series after Connors and his relationship to his family and Peter have been developed first. Personally, I still think a progression from human to some semblance of intelligence to mindless beast would work the best, as it gives a sense of development, urgency, and the aforementioned chances for actual acting.

But trying to do it and actually doing it are different things because actually doing it just seemed to take the film back a notch and just seemed hilarious to me, imo. And don't get me started of how I felt about the 90s "Lizard King" episode.

That's the only thing that really showed it working on the city and we never saw them again until the cured was dispersed. Pretty pointless, imo.

I'm not a huge comic reader, so I didn't want to bring up any Lizard incarnation I wasn't familiar of.
