I'd really like to see Abrams give the lead role to someone like Teresa Palmer. She's been around for a while, but she's not yet a household name. With "I Am Number Four", she proved she could handle action scenes convincingly and with "Warm Bodies", she proved she has enough genuine acting ability and charisma to carry a film as one of the leads(my friends and I have taken to calling her the "Anti-Kristen Stewart"). Also, I could totally buy her as the adult daughter of Han and Leia. Not to mention, she's smoking hot!

As for the new kids let's not have any of The Hunger games' kids because they would be automatically typecast and they're not liked that much. Let's just have unknown actors mostly. That would be best
If we really have to cast known Hollywod actors I would go for:

Hugo Weaving-Sith Lord/high up general in the Imperial Remnant.
Viggo Morstensen-Some Jedi Knight in the New Jedi Order. I mean Aragorn as a Jedi?! Hell yes! Let's have a character that Mace Windu tried to be but could not be.
Christian Bale-Jedi/Sith Lord, could be one of the two *cough*cough* Darth Revan anyone?*cough**cough*

Hugo Weaving and (especially) Viggo Mortensen are great suggestions!

I'll have to disagree about Christian Bale though, the further away he is from Star Wars, the better.

People expecting JJ to cast the film full of movie stars are most likely going to be very disappointed. While the cast of Star Trek had all been around for a while, only a few of them were household names. I'd expect something similar to be done here.

Me too, unknown actors are the way to go.

Probably the character too considering Chewbacca did die, unless the rumours of his death have been greatly exaggerated :P and that he did find his way off Sernpidal :P.
