The problem is that most of the posters on these boards (or anywhere on the intrnet) are men picking apart the way any female actress looks. It happened with Dunst in the Raimi films and Hathaway in TDKR. Usually the complaints are that they aren't phyiscally appealing or "hot enough". Almost the entirety of this thread have been about Woodleys physical appearance.

Let's be honest here. Who ever really complained about how "hot" Tobey was, or that he wasn't "hot" or attractive enough for the role?

But you're right, there is way too much shallow complaining by nerds who expect the actors to look like drawings from a comic book whether male or female.

And they were judging his appearance as well, they were complaining that he was weird looking & ugly, he was too skinny, his neck was too long etc...and then after the movie came out, then they started complaining that he was way too hot & good looking to be Peter Parker <sigh>

People complained about Bale as Batman, Tobey as Spider-Man, Cavill as Superman and on and on... There will always be the supernerds who cannot accept an actor/actress unless they look exactly like the drawings from the comic book.
