The Apparition

What a load of horse sh** this movie. it's one thing to have a slow burn horror film, but when there's absolutely nothing interesting going on (even with the scares), it's just bullsh**. The acting was Birdemic levels bad and the story made no sense or gave little explanation. I can't give this a 1/10 because It didn't pissed me off or offended me, it just wasted my time.

Paranorman

I can't believe I missed this in theaters, it's such a great horror film for kids. It doesn't dumb down the usual things we see with most animated films and it stands out because it's stop motion. The story, I think, was incredible on the basis of what it's trying to say. The jokes and gags worked really well and mature. I could put this next to Frankenweenie and have a great horror stop motion double feature.

I ended up seeing this movie twice in theaters in the same week. On second viewing, my admiration for Affleck's ability to build suspense out of a scenario that consisted mostly just people talking grew. This movie is probably his best directorial feature, though I like the other two very much as well.

Exit Through the Gift Shop--9/10

Real or not, it has some fascinating things to say about art and how counterculture can turn mainstream.

Get the Gringo

It's a movie that you are either into it by the first 10 or so minutes or you're not. Gladly I was into it, It's a odd comedy/action but it works. Mel Gibson did a great job selling you this tongue in cheek story which was surprising. The prison itself reminded me if Arkham City took place in Mexico.

I revisit this film every so often and it gets better every single time. I was really paying attention to how the film was shot this time around and it's just phenomenally well done.
