If I am not wrong, The longer run-time and multiple trailers with it are allowed in IMAX format, if the movie has a break in it.

A break as in intermission or something else?

If The Hobbit is as long as the previous 3 films, then nothing will be in front of it. Besides, don't they only show trailers for movies that were filmed in IMAX on true IMAX screens?
Idk... If it's true about time this what Peter Jackson said:

Quote:
Speaking to Empire, the writer-director revealed “It’s looking like it’s going to be about ten minutes shorter than Fellowship. So it’s going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth yet. I mean, Fellowship was just under three hours and this is about 2 hours 40 minutes at the moment.”

This was a couple weeks ago.

Nolan was referring to capacity of the IMAX Reel/Platters for 70mm Projection. Since The Hobbit was shot in 3D it will be projected digitally so it shouldn't really be a problem.

Going to see the Hobbit really gives you great value for the money. A 2hour 40min adventure plus 4 awesome trailers and a 9min prologue. Dunno know why anybody would miss that or just go for the trailers alone.

Agreed. I don't know why some people judge a movie even before watching it or reading reviews.

No, it's baffling. It's the Hobbit, for christ sake. Even if the LOTR-trilogy might've gotten a bit stale, and the Hobbit looks to be a bit like more of the same, it's still gonna be a fantastic visual experience. And it's looking way more fun and less self-important than both TTO and ROTK.

LOTR was an enjoyable trilogy to me and it was was critically acclaimed too, with numerous academy awards and nominations.

I will be watching Hobbit even if MOS trailer was not attached, but not in IMAX as it is 150 kms away from where I live.

Hating on popular franchises seems to be "cool" thing to do for some people.

For the same reason you dont watch every movie that comes out-somes movies just dont grab your interest. The hobbit trailer and story just isnt grabbing me and it seems to the same for some others.

All i see is a generic fantasy film with good effects.I havent seen or heard anything that makes me go "wow gotta watch it".All i see makes me go "maybe get it on dvd."

The only thing the movie has going for it is that it connected to Lotr and thats not enough to see it in cinema.

Of course id change my mind if the word of mouth is good

Yeah, I'd so absolutely watch it regardless. Saying you love movies, but skipping something like this doesnt make sense. It doesnt get any better than this IMO if you want a good old fashioned, but modern fairytale. And add to that some of that edge and violence from LOTR.

Yeah. I'm looking forward to The Hobbit more than the MOS trailer. Getting both at once will be a treat.

I also wouldn't be surprised if MOS is a comparable length to The Hobbit (2h40m) considering all the big scenes we know will be in it already.

You know, I never doubted (and still don't) that we'll get a trailer with The Hobbit, but it is not confirmed yet. I wondered for a while why EVERYONE (around the net) was so quick to trust a ´´The Lebanese Movie Cinema Guide`` site (only a year young as it turns out) and now my suspicions have been proven correct. They also said in the same breath with MOS that Wolverine will get the trailer.

Well, James Mangold, the director of Wolverine, tweeted that the report is false and that there will be no trailer in front of The Hobbit.

As for NTF, I did some digging and the only thing they got right was a scene description of MOS. Hardly surprising since there were DOZENS of soldiers in the scene. Its not hard to believe one of them knows someone from NTF. Also, they posted an exclusive a while back that TDKR will get an extended edition. BS as usual.

So there you have it boys and girls, there is no reliable confirmation out yet. And probably wont be until the trailer gets classified.

We are.

I wouldn't be surprised if The Wolverine gets a trailer as well. Maybe not with The Hobbit, but around that time.

Of course we are! Just like everyone and their dog knew a teaser would be in front of TDKR. It's a no-brainer. But at the end of the day, it's still speculation (no matter how certain) and that doesn't belong in news reports, IMO. But I know that's not the way media works, unfortunately.

The frustrating thing is how every website passes along false informaiton without checking it. Most of these websites don't have sources. They just pass along stuff and state it as fact.

Speaking of the trailer, we should get some stills by the months end or at the start of December. Maybe an Empire Magazine cover (they wouldn't give a no answer to this question) in the January issue #283 (out next Thursday, I think). TDKR had Batman/Bane covers last year, I think Star Trek got one the first time around and The Hobbit was on this months covers. So...here's hoping.

I'd be surprised (and slightly concerned) if NOTHING came out in the next two weeks.

I don't think we will be getting stills until after the trailer. I look at EW as a good guide. With Batman I think they had a pattern of having cover stories in January and July.

Yeah, it's annoying. Sometimes I get the feeling like they just post speculation that seems like a sure thing and say ´´our source`` so that when it comes true they can say ´´See, we have reliable sources!``. I wonder though, does anyone really fall for that?

Lol I was so quick to want to believe it that I ignored my normal, "Who are these people" , "How do they know" , "Why hasn't anyone reliable reported this." I just took it and ran. Very immature of me. Thanks for the wake up call G. Godfrey.

If you look at the history of this movie so many things have turned out to be false. So many of these exclusive sources turn out to be bogus.

All Batman films, GL even SR (I think) got a few stills before the trailer. After doesn't make much sense.

A cover issue may be a bit wishful thinking but stills are the norm.

The reason I said the stills would appear after the trailer is because I feel like they are hiding what the actors actually look like until the trailer. I don't think we'll be seeing how Zod and the others look until the trailer comes out. They seem like they're keeping it a surprise. It's been about a year and a haf and we have only one still of Superman.
