Hopefully this is just a rumor. I'd prefer i if the hired Alan Silvestri again. His score for the first movie was fitting for its style and had some grand moments. Jackman's work has never impressed me, although the Wreck-It Ralph score was okay enough for what it was. Silvestri's best work is grand and sweeping, with great themes, something Jackman's scores lack.

Just because he's Hugh's brother. I smell nepotism!

Not too familiar with Jackman's work, but I loved the XMFC score.
Silvestri did a great job, and he'd do a great job if asked back. At the same time, I think a change of composer makes sense. |

The thing is, this film is gonna go for a different tone then the first film, which was a action period piece.
Alan's score for The Avengers wasn't that good anyway. This ones gonna be a political thriller/ espionage type thing. I think Jackman would do good. He needs to keep some of the tunes though, like Cap's main theme. It'd be interesting to hear his take on it. |

Neither sound very original. I still prefer Silvestri though.

If we're doing suggestions I'd love to get Harry Gregson-Williams on this. Listen to the Metal Gear 2 theme, particularly around 2:40 onward and tell me this guy isn't right for a technothriller/spy-themed Cap film.

I wouldn't mind. His work on Kick-Ass was amazing.
HGW could also do it. Anything even remotely channeling Metal Gear will automatically be a 1000 times better.

Good news if this is true. I loved the score for First Class and his parts on Kickass.

I found Silvestri's work on Avengers to be superior to CA: TFA (I refer to the "Helicarrier" track,) but, am looking forward to Jackman's work (the "Frankenstein's Monster" from X-M:FC, is quite addictive & and one of my favorites, as a result.)
