So...if MOS is a major success, WB will ditch Bats, as Supes will be their main bread winner...and while they were going to introduce Batman in the JL movie, and spawn subsequent Batman movies from that, JL might be delayed, which will delay the reintroduction of Batman on film?
So either 2017 or 19 is the time we might get something? Well I ain't going to see MOS now in hopes of getting Batman back quicker

The year is still early, and movies have been made on less time, before. All a 2016 release target requires is that WB is actually starting work on assembling a production now, rather than waiting. Which, seeing as they *knew* TDKR was going to be it, they'd be crazy to not have started already.
Mind, its possible they haven't, but that speaks more to WB's bumbling than any particular physical impossibility. |

They would need to write the script next year and film the year after for it to be released in 2016. Id bet a million dollars if i had it, that they wont even start writing a script for Batman until 2015 the very earliest.

To think the batman reboot will come out as quickly as TDK's own sequel is foolish. WB does not seem to be in a rush to reboot batman. I'm positive they are shifting focus right now.
For one i'm sure their terrified of the idea of batman burnout in the general public. I still remember the groans in the audience when the TASM trailer appeared i was literally overhearing people go "again?". |

I think WB is eager to do another Batman movie but it seems pretty obvious they are waiting to see how Man of Steel turns out before they greenlight anything. They obviously want everything to fit together in some way like Marvel did with the Avengers and they want to do the same for the Justice League.

If it's a great concept like Arkham or Beyond AND they hire a great actor/writer/director quickly...then id take a new Batman as soon as next year. I f'n love Batman cant u tell? But WB pumping out a new Bats in 3 years time seems unlikely. And will they give me that Arkham concept? Or that Batman Beyond concept? Will they hire a great director and a suitable actor in the lead role?? Im not sure.
It's best that they take their time and release the reboot between 2017 and 2019. It sucks, but if it's high quality, it will be worth the wait each time. Ill take a new Batman movie every 2 years for the rest of my life. But then again..look at Batman Forever/Batman & Robin. When you pump them out too fast, look what happens. It took 8 years to get Batman Begins. And it might be 5 to 7 years of a gap between TDKR and the next one. So be it. It could be the best decision they ever made. Plus we get Man Of Steel movies to look forward to. It's not like we're left with nothing. |

It took them eight years to make Batman Begins, because of several dead end projects in the interim following the debacle of Batman & Robin. Here, they are instead coming off a billion dollar hit and greater popularity than the franchise has ever had in movies; they have a much, much stronger incentive to actually do something promptly this time.

Just throw Bats in JL, cut your losses and do Beyond with Terry McGuiness.

Eh, if your going to go with a CW actor as Batman, go with Jared Padelicki. He's proven he can both come off as a charismatic likable guy, even a doof. . . and also a dark, intense, brooding individual. I think he could step up and do Batman.

After seeng Alan tudyk in dollhouse I think he'd make an awesome hamill-esque joker. Guy Pearce would also be awesome in the role I feel. Interestingly it was his role Priscilla, queenof the dessert that made me see him in the role, while I don't think he should pay role flamboyant like he did there, the sheer manic energy he was demonstrated was perfect IMO.

I always pictured Jared as more of a Dick Grayson, but who knows.
Tudyk is fantastic. I could see him as the Joker, but also as Vision and Nightcrawler, if that role was recast.

Can we just have a no tv actor clause then? Television is now on par with film and even theatre regarding its credence so I don't care either way.

I've been saying Jensen would make a great Bruce for a long time. He's a fantastic actor.
