I have a good feeling about it and I hear good things, but SV was sort of like a bad breakup to me. I'm vulnerable and need to know what I'm getting into before I get in another serious commitment.
So far, I don't think Arrow is better than Smallville was at this stage. Smallville did a great job of updating the mythos while also providing some very good, long lasting villains with the Luthors. The Merlyns pale in comparison. It also seemed like Smallville had a bigger budget or at least better designers for costumes and stuff (and least later on down the line).

Arrow's got a lot of potential but so far I don't think it's surpassed Smallville.

Really looking forward to next episode, I mean it's John Crichton for crying out loud

And I don't think this is better than Smallville, not yet at least. But you never know.

The only episode of Smallville I watched was the finale, I've watched every Arrow episode and can tell you its a good series. My and my dad watch it every Wednesday. Try it and see what you think.

I watched the first four seasons of Smallville and I'll say Arrow got this beat in the first season. Smallville in the first season was a bunch of teenage melodrama with Clark and Lana playing that will they, won't they game.

Yeah I heard about that. I'm really glad in Arrow that they got rid of that with Ollie and Laurel. Even if only temporarily.

Whereas Arrow is a twenty-something melodrama with Ollie and Laurel playing that will they, won't they game.

It's clear to me that Arrow is trying to prevent making the same mistakes that Smallville made in terms of how to play out the story during the course of the series.

I think it's different here Lana's boyfriend in season one was a jerk while Clark was the shy farm boy. It was clear who the writers wanted you to cheer for. In Arrow Tommy has become a really decent guy who hasn't shown the slightest hint of wickedness. Right now in the show Ollie and Laurel seem more like star-crossed lovers because if they weren't in the situation they are in they would be together.

I understand Ollie being an a** when he was younger. But cheating with her sister and then getting her killed seems awfully hard to get over.

Wonder if she will have the accent on the show. I enjoyed her on ER.

One of the showrunners, Andrew Kreisberg, has said a few times what a fan he is. I wouldn't be surprised to see more Who actors in the future.

They sure do love their Doctor Who actors. They could get David Tennant if they asked.

Karen Gillan would be great for sure. Gillan could play Sliver Banshee. Be nice to see a few more female villains.

Actually, what would be really surreal is if they gave the Dark Archer a Diggle equivalent and had him played by Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones).

Or alternatively, make him Barrowman's boss. Now THAT would be hilarious.

There is no need to introduce Banshee in this show, the would change her to much to make her normal.

Yeah, Green Arrow and Hawkman are sort of rivals/buddies in the old JLA comics. This was pre 52.
