I'm glad they aren't dragging the plot out lost style.

That's one of the benefits of UK shows. Very few filler episodes.

Sometimes they're a bit too short, though. Six episodes is basically only enough time for like one plot point per character in an ensemble show. I think the American premium channels nailed it; thirteen episodes is the perfect length for a season. Time enough to create a few interesting storylines but not enough to waste time with extraneous BS.

I agree 12 episodes is usually the magic number. We don't have commericals on the BBC though so the TV shows are actually little longer.

Utopia has a 70 minutes running time.

After hearing about it on several podcasts and getting some positive feedback from friends I decided to pick up Dredd on DVD.

This movie is ****ing AWESOME. Karl Urban nailed it, nailed it perfectly. It is heartbreaking to see a movie like this get shafted. The lady who plays Anderson might be a little cutesy for the role but she held it well enough and I smiled a little at seeing Avon Barksdale play yet another drug dealer role...

So sad to hear how badly this movie did box office wise. I think a sequel would have been awesome. It felt like the sci-fi version of Lethal Weapon or Die Hard or something.
