Oh btw, people need to see Robot & Frank. It's easily one of the most underrated film of last year.

It's Frank Langella and a robot going on mischief adventures. It's as if someone made a live action UP film but instead of a little asian boy, it's a wafflebot.

Persona is a foreign, non-english speaking film, so you don't have much of a leg to stand on with that one.

The one from the 60s. A couple weeks ago, I mentioned its a great movie that everyone should see and Kane spurned me, so I'll probably continuously bring it up to him for the next 3 or 4 years as an act of subdued retaliation.

Urban was spot on with his take on Dredd. Dredd is a tough Dirty Harry style cop dressed like David Carradine in Death Race 2000 with an almost permanent scowl which is an archetype Frank Miller didn't invent.

Dredd screenwriter Alex Garland gives a pretty explicit interview in which he addresses the accusations he ripped off the The Raid on Youtube.

Basically he says he wrote Dredd before The Raid back in 2009 and film journalists should know better to accuse him knowing how long it takes for a movie to go from development to pre-production to production and to post production.

He says if he was influenced by anything it was the original John Carpenter Assualt On Precinct 13.

Garland said in the Judge Dredd comics there are two types of stories the day in the life ones that go on for a few issues and the big sweeping epics that last half a year. Garland tried writing a the big sweeping epic with the Dark Judges but it didn't work because they are supernatural riffs on Judge Dredd and his world. Audiences would need knowledge of the character and his world for it to work so the storyline would better suit a sequel.

I'm still waiting for a Wes Anderson Collection. Then I could get em all......at least until he come out with another one.

Also, Rushmore was great. First Anderson movie I had ever seen. What led me to watch the Life Aquatic. Also, also, the Darjeeling Unlimited was pretty damn good too upon second and third viewings.

I've only seen Rushmore, Royal Tanenbaums, and Moonrise Kingdom from Anderson. I may buy Moonrise because I did really like it.

I'm glad to see so many people here realize how good Life Aquatic is.

It's always been one of my favorite movies, but whenever I get see reviews for it, it seems to get lukewarm reception at best.

That's because the vast majority of human beings wouldn't know a great movie if it crawled up their leg and laid eggs in the fatty parts of their genitalia.
