I watched the first episode of Utopia last night. I think I found my new favourite show. Its unexpectedly crazy and violent. A guy got tortured by having chilli then sand and then bleach rubbed into his eyes before having one of his eyes pulled out with a spoon. The episode started with two assassins killing everyone in a comic store.

When five strangers from an online comic book forum agree to meet after gaining possession of the original manuscript for the cult graphic novel 'The Utopia Experiments', they find themselves pursued by a shadowy organization known as The Network who are in pursuit of the manuscript - and they are prepared to kill to track it down.



While three of the forum members - Ian, Becky and Wilson meet in the pub, another is confronted and killed by two Network henchmen. The only witness to the murder is 11-year-old Grant - the fifth forum member - and when he flees with the manuscript, the henchmen give chase.


Ian and Becky soon find they've been set-up for crimes they haven't committed, while Wilson's hacking skills attract the attention of Network henchmen Arby and Lee. As the trio's lives begin to fracture, the world of civil servant Michael Dugdale is also torn apart as he is blackmailed by The Network.

Its like if Warren Ellis and Grant Morrisson wrote a TV show which was co-directed by Richard Kelly and Nicolas Winding Refn.

I'm not saying the show sucks or anything... I watched the first two seasons on Netflix and couldn't seem to give a **** about anyone on that show. I don't go around telling people not to watch it or roll my eyes when people fawn all over it... It's just not for me.

Nah, it's cool. It's definitely one of my favorite shows, but everyone has their stuff. I'm a bit surprised, though. I know very few people who don't like the show. Now something like Mad Men (which I like as much Breaking Bad, if not slightly more) I could easily understand. But BB, that's usually pretty all encompassing.

Anyone a fan of Regular Show? It's getting it's own comic series like Adventure Time. Not sure how translatable it is in comparison, but I'll check it out.

The actor who played Curtis on Misfits is in this, right? I think I'm gonna check this out.

The first episode managed to get my interest I'm intrigued by where the plot will go from here so I'mma check out the second episode next week

Between this and new episodes of Lost Girl (My favourite tv show) and Elementary I'm going to have some good stuff to watch

I'm a fan. I will probably grab at least the first issue and check it out. Mordecai and Rigby are hilarious together, the remind me of anytime I've had a best friend. That shows Halloween specials are amazing too.

That show sounds amazingly ridiculous

With a title like Amish Mafia right now i am imagining the characters doing drive by shootings in horse drawn carriages and trying to muscle in on each others butter churning and quilt making rackets

I've watched a few episodes of The Regular Show and it's growing on me.

Breaking Bad is the best show on TV right now.

Utopia sounds interesting. I'll have to check that out.

Misfits was surprisingly good this season in spite of losing its entire original cast.

I've watched the first episode of TRON: Uprising and found it quite good. I gotta get around to the remainder of what's aired so far, but I'm in the middle of watching Peep Show right now.

Yeah, it's a show that grows on you definitely. I liked it decently enough at first, but it's become something I like a lot. Not AT level, but still really fun.

I'm done with Misfits. I don't like the new characters. I think the show has peaked. I wouldn't be shocked if the next season is the last one.

I imagine they will have to tame Misfits down alot on the U.S version unless its on HBO, Showtime, Starz or AMC.

I've been liking the new characters in Misfits so far and I Rudy so much

He's definitely my favourite of the cast at the moment

As for Misfits, Finn has really grown on me. The new redheaded chick whose name I can't remember is also interesting. And super-hot.

I don't know then, maybe. It'd be kind of ironic, though, because over in one of the community board topics they were talking about how with that user title no would be able to tell when he got banned or if he just left the boards for whatever reason

Thing is, it appears Discovery History came up with it first back in 2010.

Which sort of makes me wonder how DC have gotten away with this for so long... I mean, apart from a few small differences, it's practically identical.
