So, silly question.... has it been 100% confirmed that Michael Shannon is playing Zod yet? I remember reading that Zack Snyder would not confirm who he is playing which I have found strange, or at least not saying that he will be the villain in the movie.

This has just had me thinking recently (which has made me join up and actually post on the boards even though I have been browsing these boards since the pre-Superman Returns days), who thinks that there is a chance that if Michael Shanon is indeed playing Zod, that he won't be the films main villain? Maybe they will be going for a different approach, such as when Zod first arrives on Earth (if he hasn`t been here as long as Clark anyway that is) he and Clark may bond over that fact they are both Kryptonians like the late series story-arc in Smallville when Callum Blue played Zod? I know it seems a little like a rip-off of the Sinestro storyline from Green Lantern, but am I alone thinking this is a possibility for MOS?

Shannon is playing Zod, but I think Chris Meloni is playing someone other than who he has been announced as playing....and welcome and congrats on your first post

LOL he's confirmed. Multiple press releases have come out saying such and the official site says so.

Also, Shannon himself has confirmed he's playing Zod.

Zod isn't the main or rather only villain. That's what Snyder was "doing"
Perhaps there is someone out there responsible for Kryptons destruction, perhaps not.

I have a few friends from Kansas City, on the Missouri side, which I suppose is close enough to Kansas proper. No discernable accent from what I can tell.

Then again I spent my childhood in New Jersey and I don't have a New Jersey accent...

Rumors said it was Non, others said it was Zod.

Since that toy commercial said zod had a robot army, everybody think all the other mocap man on the set was robots.


I seen atlease 4 set pics with different people wearing mocap suits.


In one pic you see shannon wearing one while another dude was right behind him with one on.Shannon did say in one interview that he wasn't the only one wearing it.

There's been no official confirmation. Hopefully the trailer in a couple of weeks will give us an idea as to who they were.

The TDKR bluray was released here in South Africa yesterday and there is no MOS trailer on the bluray that I could find. There is a menu option for a TDKR FX app which you can use to synch via a phone to download exclusive content. I have not tried it as it mentions that the bluray player needs to be on the same wireless network that the phone is on and I can't locate the FX app to download for my phone.
