It isn't too extreme. Def. on the higher end, but these types of film tend to be under predicted anyway. 400 million with 3D is like 320 million without it. It's a ridiculous difference. All that means is MOS needs to sell less tickets than the first Iron Man sold. If the film is as good as it looks, it will not have much trouble with that. Avengers without 3D is like 160/460ish. It is just about the same as TDKR. Yet with 3d, it was 207/630. 54% of Avengers opening weekend tickets sold were 3D tickets. The Amazing spiderman say 46% of tickets be for 3D. It's 260m gross is like 210m without it. Superman having 3D gives it excellent potential.

Superman Returns, with inflation, 3D, and no Pirates 2 is over 300 million. Somehow I think MOS will have significantly more appeal than that.

Iron Man II got close to what Iron Man got(1 318 2 312 Million) Iron Man 3 will likely do less but should get 300 Million or close.

Star Trek will do between 200-250 Million.

Man of steel might only do slight better than Superman returns.Despite all the praise Caisno Royale without adjusting for inflination doing only slighty better than Die ANother
Day domesticly. And If you adjust for Inflation Domesticly Die Another Day tops Casino Royale.

Man of Steel Is more like Batman Begins or Casino Royale not The Dark Knight or Skyfall.

He's almost certain to get a boost from Avengers.

Wrong. Its $241M adjusted for inflation and had 3D already (3D IMAX). Nor can you equate how much more it would have done without Pirates 2. Because you don't know. Stop pulling fake numbers outta nowhere.

Sequels often do less than original.Empire Strikes Back was lowest of Star Wars original
Trilogy.Spider-Man 2 did less than Spider-Man(and 2 Is considered best of Rami Trilogy)
Iron Man 3 will probally hit 300 Million.

Skyfall success had 3 things going for It 1:Annivarsary film 2:Popular Bond actor's first film In 4 years and 3:return of some of classic Bond

X-Men Is my favorate comic and realsticly assuming the Wolverine does indeed have X-Men,X2,first Class quality I see It In the 180 million range(3-d may get It to 190
Million)

I think that Trek 2 if good has a better chance at 400mil.

BTW, I'm not predicting anywhere near 400mil right now.

Don't act like 3D was 1/4th as big in 2006 as it is now. And they're fake numbers, but my own analysis. What did you see Skyfall doing? Here is what I saw

http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewt...p?f=12&t=67995

I am sure you have hobbies of your own, which you may not be a professional at, but are better than most. People who follow & predict the box office every day know whats up. Some of the more popular ones - like whoever does Coming Soons - tend to hug tracking too much. Solid batting average, but they will miss the true breaks outs or flops.

If everything wet exactly as planned, nobody would ever be wrong. I've called unexpected flops & unexpected break outs many times before, & part of it due. MOS looks poised for a BIG total. 300m would be on the very low end of what I see - for now -.

And, you know, because it was good.

If this film is critically acclaimed we're looking at 300m+ domestically easy.

Skyfall succeeded because it had excellent marketing & incredible advance word of mouth. Combine that with the action genre simply killing it this year, and it was obvious.
