Before I say anything else, I'll say this, flat out: there was no indication that Beth "likes" Rick. A thank-you-for-bringing-my-sister-back kiss on the cheek doesn't cut it. I didn't think it lingered or was focused on so much.

I do think she's doomed sooner rather than later though.

I had a fleeting thought of some nonsense premised on Beth

drama, but dismissed it. It's largely because I'm happily on board with the new, Daddy's hat-wearing, TCB Carl, as opposed to the earlier, oblivious '**** staying in the house' Carl. Besides, it's a bit too cliche.

Watching the replay, Merle managed to raise an infinite amount of hell and had people at each other's throats in about 2 minutes of dialogue. The prison might have literally imploded if he spent any real time there. Rooker kicks ass.

I've seen a lot of complaints on twitter about Daryl "turning his back" on Rick and the group and that this shows where his "true loyalty" lies, but I, personally, don't think that's exactly what happened.

It can't easy for him to be faced with a decision to either leave his flesh and blood brother out in the wilderness after thinking him dead for nearly a year, no matter what kind of man he is, or go back to the people who've come to consider your family and wondering for the rest of your life what happened to the brother you left.

Merle was the only family he had left so I do think he feels a certain responsibility to him. If Merle had the life of one of the group in his hands, was threatening them right front of Daryl's face, not for a minute do I think he'd let Merle get by with that.

He would ultimately choose the group, IMO. I'm so confident that you can quote me. Just my two cents. This doesn't make me doubt Daryl.

I wonder what Merle's plan was until Rick showed up to save Daryl, did he really plan on getting him and Daryl out of the fight, or just a way to try and end the fight quickly and would have killed Daryl to get back on the Gov's good side(if that was still even possible)

In the comics version it's never revealed in-story. But Kirkman says it's Shane's.

That doesn't make sense. Really, it was an impossible decision. He did right by going with his brother. Do people really think that it would have been kosher for him to send his unarmed brother off into the wilderness? Especially after Merle led Daryl to believe that he was going to get them out of the death match alive, or at least implied that?

And let's remember, this is a GREAT move for Daryl as a character. He was becoming way too soft and cuddly as Rick's lieutenant. He and Merle will make an awesome pairing to watch. Merle's trash talk in the woods may have stolen the show tonight if not for Rick going nuts at the end

I really hate the difference between TV Show Rick and Comic Rick. I'm not saying its bad but it's just weird not seeing Rick in control. He may have gotten hot tempered a lot but he knew what he was doing. Him going crazy though, I understand the reasoning but its just a little off to me.
