A bit more pop in the yellow and that cover photo would be fantastic. As it stands, it's still miles better than the pic that is the latest poster.

Collider has a video interview with Joe Letteri. He talks about many projects. At one point he is asked about Man of Steel. He makes it sound as if Weta is mostly involved with the first portion of the movie. The interviewer throws out a number like the first 25%.

Ugh I really hoped that we'd see Superman active throughout the entirety of the film. Getting sick of seeing superheroes reject their responsibility or "going inactive", only to return at the end.

That's what I hate about origin stories too. Takes so long for the superhero to go active.

I guess those storytelling devices cut down on the special effects budget though.

The general public comments about him hitchhiking are annoying! Perhaps the death of a family member motivates him to go see the world on his own without using his powers anymore. He could feel like what good are the powers when I couldn't save my father for example. Then he is put in situation where he HAS to use his powers. Thus sees the need to use his powers for good and Alaska would be around the region to create the FOS as well.

...but why France first? Is there some French connection here?

Is Gene Hackman coming back?

I'm pretty sure the bearded Clark in Alaska is prior to him been Superman. From the con footage it seems he meets AI Jor El and then gets the costume etc.

Also on this him been sent to Earth as a savior that doesn't bother me in the slightest, it doesn't mean Jor El knew he was gonna send him cause he knew Zod n Co were coming but knowing he would have these fantastic powers he probably wanted him to use them as a force for good, to help the people of earth. If it works for the story then fantastic.

maybe Clark hitchhiking in Alaska is him trying to be "normal," and not use his powers.

just cause they're out of costume doesn't mean they aren't active, or rather there isn't powers on display. Moreover, there is a reason most originals are better than sequels, the Matrix is almost a essay on this very point.

Ironman, as well.

I personally don't need in costume to be entertained, just engaging stuff to happen. This would be no more evident than in a blade origin movie.

Precisely. I think the use of powers in a film is far more entertaining and interesting when there has been a build-up to it. An explanation of why and how it is important. However, The Dark Knight also proved that you can have a great story about an established hero who is active throughout the film as well.

Thats probably not gonna happen it'l be like Batman Begins, an hour will build the story and then the final hour + will be when he's become Superman.

Also from the Con footage I think its quite clear that Clark returns to Smallville after been to Alaska, then something will lead him to the ship in the artic where he meets AI Jor El, then costume and boom to Metropolis.

Cavill is looking great in this latest pic, and the colors on the suit really seem much more vibrant than in the image they released a few days ago. Lookin good overall. Very excited for Summer 2013.

So glad they are finally starting to release images for this film. Can't wait to see Zod.

What if his suit weighs like a million tonnes and only he can lift it up because it's Alien, I think that would be awesome.

Like Maybe in the Ship Jonathon found him in the suit is in there folded up all Alien like, and because J.Kent couldn't even lift it up he didn't know what it was, but upon showing Clark when he's revealing he's actually an orphan that Clark just gently strumms his fingers across it but lifts a bit of the fabric up and J.Kent has a "wtf" expression both examining it, I think that would be sweet!
