I am glade they didn't go with an athletic, pretty boy type (no offense to Dane Dehaan) like some of the other names rumored

This has me hyped.

For those who are opposed to ASM, I understand. But now, Webb and everyone has more creativity to invest and mold! They could really make a film that stands on such high standards as Spidey 2 or higher even possibly. I hold my faith and I believe in Mark Webb.

Dane did such a great job in Chronicle (being such an unlikable little sh... punk) that this news actually upsets me because all I want to do when I see him is to punch him in the face.

My irrational Chronicle association aside, he seems like a fine young actor and I'm sure he will do a great job. I just hope that I can stop wanting to punch him in the face long enough to enjoy ASM2.

Praying that the writing in Chronicle was the problem and not him.. I saw the last 30 minutes or so and he was just like "UUUUUUUUURGHG" "AHRHJHAHRHR" I trust Webb and co though, and he seems excited, so we'll see.

Yeah.. I know... My brother and his friend both hated it too.. The best part I saw was when the guy use his mental powers to spear him. Not that I hated him or anything, it was just like "Whoa! That was flipping cool!"

It's good to know that many wanted him in the part and that he actually got it. That is good to hear and I say congrats to him.

I mean he looks like he could play a crack addict which, pretty much is what Harry becomes in the comics. However I kind of thought the Harry in this series should be much more 'beautiful' than Peter is, so that he could maybe slip into the role of snooty better-than-you elitist type guy, only to actually become a friend of Peter's and someone he likes. I don't think they should go the way of the Raimi series and have Harry be someone who likes and protects Peter right from the get-go. I think, if anything, he could be portrayed as more of an annoyance to Peter. I think it would be too easy to have them be best pals right out the gate.

But damn, his lips are bigger than Mary-Jane's!!

Great casting. I've seen a handful of his work. He has the acting chops to be a great Harry Osborn.

I'm not sure about some the casting for this film...I feel like Webb is going too far with this "adults that look like they're 15-16" crap. Shailene doesn't look anything like MJ should. And Jamie Foxx as Electro...that feels like he's going for a pop sensation grab...

Foxx is actually very underrated as an actor. I think what hurted him was his days with Kayne West. But the man is an an Oscar winner and extremely versatile. I'm happy he's in.

Well, actually 17-18 to be precise. They're seniors in this first movie. Who knows how much of a time jump will be from this one to the sequel.
