But why should that work if everyone thinks he's dead? Nobody thinks there's multiple Batmen out there. The idea of reminding everyone he's out there was said when he was actually out there and everyone knew he was, hence they were being reminded of it.

If half the city watched him go up in a nuclear explosion then shining a batsignal in the sky isn't going to fool anyone.

Hit the nail on the head there.

Much like TDKR itself, this is very flawed, but when it works it works.

I nearly spit out my tea at the "stop hitting yourself" part.

What's the deal with holding Fox prisoner for 22 days?

Batman became this myth and legend, so I would not be surprised at all if any thugs still wonder if this shadowy figure is still protecting the streets at night.

That was always something that bugged me.

But, you'd think they had a list of who to "sentence" first as Stryver was up while Fox was a prisoner and maybe cops just jump to the head of the line since the cops are being hunted like dogs.

I think Talia's line about getting Fox to tell her how to flood to the reactor could have something to do with it. Maybe they wanted him alive, as he was the most knowledgable person in Gotham about the reactor? Talia seems to be gloating about having gotten that information out of him.

Foley's arc in #49, wow. Surprised that's there at all, but I gotta say, the character of Foley has really grown on me as of late.

I really love this about Gordon's speech at #13

Quote:
Within moments of the film's opening, Nolan presents the audience with a fresh mystery - Gordon's alternate speech. He's clearly desperate to read it - its words are written in every fresh wrinkle on his face - but his conscience forces him to wait for the right moment.

When it's stolen by Bane (fittingly, in the City's sewers, where Gotham's dirt is hidden), we know that it won't be long before its secrets are revealed.

When the speech is finally read aloud by the masked terrorist, it's transformed into a weapon as powerful as any neutron bomb. And, like Wayne Enterprise's energy weapon, what was intended as a force for good - the confession of Gordon's sins, the absolution of Batman - is twisted into a tool of evil, shattering not just the Gotham residents' belief in Harvey Dent, but in the very concept of justice itself.

And yet, even though Gordon's words are spoken through a mask, by a maniac whose every utterance sounds sarcastic and mocking, as an audience, we feel the emotion of the words, and we hear them as though they were coming from Jim himself.

For us, stealing Gordon's moment of attrition is one of Bane's worst crimes.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding it but they're kidding w/ #32 right? Do they not remember the cell-phone mapping device scene at end of TDK?

Yeah tere's things in there that I didn't realise, somethings I now appreciate (Foley's arc is one) and some I don't agree with. Number 1 is completely spot on though.

I think in TDKR is the moment where Bruce actually shows Lucuis he's Batman in the bunker (though Lucuis would have to be the thickest person alive to not know by now) in TDK it is still just Batman.

foley was a horrible character and terribly acted by modine in my opinion. or maybe he wasn't such a bad character, but modine's hammy over acting completely ruined him.

Modine had one delivery that I found cringe-worthy. "Jesus Blake, every cop in the city is down there! GARSH!"

Other than that, I thought he was fine.

Lol yeah I just added the "garsh" cause he gives a really "aw shucks", doofy kind of delivery there.

I really didn't mind him besides that though, he played smarmy and smug. You're not supposed to like him, kinda like CIA Douche.

I though his "There's only one police in this city" was delivered beautifully.

Love that whole sequence with the war drums and the chant building up. Thousands of men assembled on Wall Street. Bane strutting out onto the City Hall steps like he's the King of Gotham. Catwoman looking so cool, waiting for the fighting to start. Everything she wants right at her fingertips. Really gets the adrenaline pumping.
