What is the best brand of Ram/Memory for a desktop computer? My desktop computer originally came with 2 512 MB sticks of ram that would equal 1 GB of ram in total but I wanted to add more ram to the computer, could I simply mix the ram & use the smaller sticks of ram I already have along with one that is already 1 to 2 GB in total or would I have to install more of the same 512 MB ram to prevent overheating or whatever other problems would occur if I used 2 different sizes of ram?

Corsair seems to be pretty popular.

Go to the Crucial web site. They have a huge database of makes and models of computers and motherboards. You are almost guaranteed to find what you need as long as you know the hardware you have. And of course it is in their database!

plus on top of what Death said they can scan your system and tell you what you have and what you can go up to, which is pretty damn cool.
