I saw the 3D 48fps version last night, I say avoid that if you can. It totally takes you out of the film for the first part, doesn't feel like a LOTR/Jackson film at all but like a video game or European drama from the 90s. I enjoyed the film but I would never want to see a film in 48fps again, just the worst thing you could do to a established franchise is change the way it looks. My friend did also not like the 48fps. Shore's score was also a huge disappointment, nothing memorable at all.

I agree. 48 fps is just horrible. I'm so mad I wasted my first time seeing this on that terrible format. Besides that I thought it was good. The beginning sucks and definitely needed another trimming. The cg is shocking how bad it is at times. About 10 dwarves are there for no reason. Radaghast was pointless and dumb, Old Bilbo was pointless, the white council while nice was largely pointless as well. Just fan service that brings the movie to a halt.

The good: Martin is a fantastic Bilbo, Ian once again is fantastic and I loved Thorin he was amazing. The action was decent and the film can be beautiful at times. Riddles in the dark hands down best scene in the movie. Overall I'd say its good but nothing more. 7/10

Huh, I noticed the tracked music a bit but I didn't think it was that bad. That's definitely something I'm going to be paying attention to next time I see it.

I don't like Astin's Sam, what is your problem? Did you miss when I praised the films, or does it not help your crying and thus you simply ignored it? You're the one who can't seemingly help him or herself.

I kind of want to see it in 48fps anyway just out of curiosity.

I wonder if a mod can reset the polls so we can see who voted for who.

The news about them using tracked music from LoTR is just... I don't even know what to say.

Arse, is what it is.

It recalls Predator 2. Watch that movie, and you are just constantly reminded that you could be watching Predator.

I saw the movie in regular 3D and it looked fine. So i would say Regular 3D and 2D would help people out in deciding about the 48 deal. If you take away what you think is bad you'll likely enjoy the film more.

Reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. That movie had so much ill placed tracked music.

On Stranger Tides was missing Gore I think. You could tell there was a new ships captain doing Pirates 4 and it didn't work.

You know how difficult it would be to fit character development and motivations for every single damn dwarf? Especially in one film!

Feel like some people are just looking for reasons to complain.

Ok so you have a bunch of characters that you're going to have a hard time setting up in one or even 2 films.

How exactly does the solution to this involve adding bunch of semi-relevant content from works other than the children's book you are adapting?

I think the Dwarfs I liked better then the Elves and Humans. The Dwarfs are different from the other. Think of 13 brothers and thats the Dwarfs.

Am I the only one not bothered by 48fps? Maybe it's because I watch a lot of British tv that tends to have a similiar appearance...

WHY? There's no need to see who voted for what, it's their opinion.

I think it be nice if they would post a review weither they liked it or not. Just a vote doesn't help the undecided.

I'm finding anyone not effected in the slightest with the regular 3D won't be effected by the 48 fps
