How I rate the Rambo series:

First Blood
Rambo
First Blood Part ll
First Blood Part lll - The only one I've only watched once. The action is very ridiculous.

Exactly right. Anyone that tells me Stallone can't act I refer them to the end of First Blood when he's having his little breakdown. Boom.

Ick. That scene makes me cringe. It doesn't work for me at all.

I also liked the Last House on the Left remake. If not for the last two minutes, which is a total betrayal of the tone and theme of the movie and kills the cathartic quality the rest of it has, I'd say it was a nearly great movie.

Then what would you guys say about The Batman? That one is more action and fun than dark stories

It's a character study, back in it's time it's a classic, and I think it's held highly cause of what it did and being pretty good for it's kind
These days you see one of them you might not feel this one so special

Nah I personally go through one of those breakdowns about once a week..

Joking aside, the last Rambo brought it back to the dark gritty style it deserves.. Not the dodging bullets of an entire army style of II and III.

A very underrated scene is Rocky Balboa,, when Stallone is having the "pow wow" with his son. "son feels he is living in Rockys shadow" scene.

I never found the boat ride scene in Willy Wonka to be scary, even as a kid.

I'm not all that enamored with either Silver Linings Playbook or Argo. Of all the movies I went and saw this weekend, Mama was easily the best one. Argo has its moments, but it's slight and rather one dimensional. Silver Linings Playbook has a lot to like, but I don't like the Hollywood ending. Mama is just a ghost story but is an uncommonly ****ing scary one.

Argo and SLP might not be great films, but they are pretty good ones imo. And in this day and age it's enough for me. I think that making a movie is really hard , so I have a lot of respect for people who somehow pull it off. But once again to each its own.
Also after what you say about Mama, I really want to see it now

While I would disagree about Silver Linings for the most part (one of my favorites of last year), I wholeheartedly agree with Argo. It has very solid direction, acting and the opening scene is very suspenseful, but any character development is practically non-existent, so much so that the whole movie comes off pretty mediocre to me.

Fellowship has my favorite action scenes of the LOTR trilogy. Just wish the fights were longer.

It's also my favorite overall of the 3.

^ Missed it in the theater, but I really want to watch this one.

For me Best Film of the Year: Life of Pi

Close second: End of Watch.

All in all I think 2012 was a pretty good year for films.

Yep, it was. It baffles me when people say this year sucked. This is one of the best years in film in a long time. So much so that I'm glad for a first time in a long time there's no clear frontrunner for the Oscars.

I still have to see End of Watch, Argo, Amour, Life of Pi, and The Master.

I haven't seen amour, Lincoln end of watch or the master. Though out of those the only movie I really had any desire to see was Lincoln.
