There is so much to hate and respect about Bendis. Some of his stuff is awesome ..he grinds..he makes deadlines...he kills certain stuff and epic misses on others.

He's basically a welcome face for me at Marvel..i can diss him ad nauseum but give him credit at the same time. I just wish he'd read more back issues of marvel comics and even what is going on concurrent to his works...

I think that Bendis really works best in the niches of the Marvel Universe as opposed to the more grandiose elements of it. His works like Alias and Daredevil are absolutely fantastic, and I would love it if he ended up on a book like Luke Cage or Heroes for Hire. I think he's off to a good start with the X-Men which seems to be more his style than say the Avengers. But I think he's out of his element with the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy book.

I'll agree with that. I've been hoping for a Heroes for Hire since the Heroic Age. But yeah, I have a feeling his GotG is going to be disappointing. That's why I'm not picking it up

No. Avengers Assemble was the most underwhelming Bendis book I've read in a while. It's not that it's bad or anything, but it was just absolutely dull and brought nothing to the table other than to cash in on the Avengers movie. It also gave no explanation as to why Peter Quill is alive.

So Peter Quill escapes the Cancerverse with no explanation yet Richard Rider is nowhere to be found and we get some little turd showing up as the new Nova in AvX?

On a skim through I did see a slight mention of the Cancer Verse and Peter's shying away from the topic. It gave me the impression that Bendis wanted to address it in their series and not in a guest staring story. I'm cool with that, as long as they deal with it.

As for Nova... we've got about 4 pages of material with the new guy. I'm willing to give him and Richard's fate a bit more time before complaining.

But that means you'd have to buy a Jeph Loeb book. You may be willing but I ain't going there...

These are basically my thoughts..I do hear that this guy Whacker has been somewhat aggressive toward the fan criticism of the Changes..which is not real cool but may be somewhat overblown. Nova has a great following and these guys better embrace it and respect the fans.

I have zero problem with the Rider situation...there is still plenty of chances for his return if this Loeb Book succeeds.

I agree with you here. I do think DnA wrote that book in a very Bendisy style with the "fake debrief panels" etc..but I just don't know how Bendis can handle dealing around cosmic continuity and juggling characters. I loathe Iron Man's presence on the team..

Essentially I don't like the whole deal of how the DnA stuff was left at...and I didnt really like Bendis on Avengers despite the fact I bought the books and supported them. Loeb has been trash..and his Ultimates stint was one of the worst comics run of all time. All that effects where I'm at, but I will give the books a shot.

I'm not buying a Loeb book until he goes on a temporary hiatus to get his stuff straightened out.

The last thing I read by Loeb and enjoyed was the Fallen Son mini, which he drew from his experiences having lost his son. This new Nova character is named after his son and apparently resembles him, telling me that Loeb is likely pulling form his son again for this new Nova series. Plus, I like what I read on interviews, so I'm giving it a shot.

It's McGuinness on the book that kills me. I just can't stand that guy's art.

I really hope the new GOTG series explains the cancerverse escape. The rocket mini was wonderful as it explained how Peter's disappearance effected Rocket. It was sad.
