Of course, the death of a parent is going to be emotional. But more “philosophically,” it was suggested that Clark shouldn’t be guilty of a “failure.” Thus, a natural death for Jonathan neatly avoids any conundrums - while an unnatural one does not. And I think some folks were disagreeing with the notion that an accidental death necessarily constitutes a moral failing on Clark’s part.

Am I the only one who hopes that Clark's father doesn't die?

plus, with the dialogue that supes gives regarding how "my father said" and "he was convinced", it's pretty much a given that jkent is no longer around. hooray, grammar!

Unless it's about him choosing the world (and strangers) over someone he loves...that brings up the theme of him belonging to the world other than just one person (which obviously ties into his relationship with Lois) I could get behind that, but i still prefer the heart attack stuff, it's much more subtle and it will likely be better cinematically.

There is something floating next to Jor-El at the start of the recent trailer...could it be Jor-El's robot? Also, at the 2:22 mark, it looks like Faora (or maybe Zod) is flying toward the fighter jet? It's not superman..
Have these moments been discussed? VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Well, regarding emotional scenes in this film, I kind of hope that they address on how Jor-el and Lara are/would be concerned for their son's emotional well being when on Earth because, unless proven otherwise, they have no idea that someone nice will find Clark and raise him with the love and care that a parent should towards their child.
Heck, I'd like them to actually address the issue on them fearing that their kid has a chance of not receiving the love and care that he's supposed to get. In a lot of ways, it's a miracle that Clark was discovered by loving parents such as the Kents. |

Could the father he is talking about be Jor-El?

i doubt it. jor-el's dialogue seems like the exact opposite, in fact. his is more inspirational and encouraging. i'd bet good money supes is referring to jkent with these words.

highly doubtful....
because Johnathan said that Clark had to keep the SUPER side of himself a secret...while Jor-El said that he will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards

Thank you both for the clarification. I am pretty confident you are correct.

the howering shot is perfection. this is how you do a promo pic from superman.
i am not going to complain that the yellow in the shield and belt is 90% of time almost grey. in trailers and promo. but then again we the superman fans are desperate for a new movie. Last edited by dark_b; 04-30-2013 at 05:42 AM. |

Yeah, that hovering pic is glorious. Also, glad to see it without "Twizzlers" in the image, lol.

Its a great pose. He looks fat in that angle and the suit almost looks black though.
